Slight AW: New gym in my area

I wanted to AW this here since only you ladies will understand my giddiness.

I got wind a few weeks ago that they are finally opening a gym convenient to my place in the new Town Center they are building. I'm pretty excited about it! I went to the preview center to find out pricing and it's $19/month + $199 enrollment fee.

They have a pool, sauna, weight center, juice bar, kids club, classes. Way more amenities than the Gold's Gym I used to be a part of 2-3 years ago for a better price.

Things are a little tight right now, so I'm going to use birthday money later this month to pay for the enrollment fee, I think. H isn't as excited about it as me because we do have a TM in our basement and we bought a weight bench. But for $19/month, I don't need to go there every day.

It doesn't open until September, but that works out fine, since I'm going to be marathon training all summer anyways. I'm really excited about having the ability to diversify my workouts a little. They open at 5AM so I could even start squeezing in workouts in the morning if I wanted to.

Any other LA fitness members? How big is the pool?

I've never been to an LA Fitness gym - it sounds great though an the price is so reasonable! Enjoy it!

I belong to an LA fitnes but all the ones around here are the result of LA Fitness buying out another gym chain (Urban Active) so while the signage has changed and they took out the tanning beds, nothing else had changed as of the last time I was in there which was a few months ago. I'm getting ready to cancel both J's and my memberships because we just don't use them.

ETA-it sounds like yours is going to be awesome though, yay!

Sounds great! My parents belong to a LA Fitness and like it. The management at theirs is really nice and let me borrow a treadmill during a snow day. My gym is 29/ a month + 14/month for child care, and I thought that was a good deal! It's so worth it.
