I do/have. I modify his plans to suit my needs. I have done them for halfs and used a time goal plan from his Half book; it was a 16 week plan. I was running more than the early weeks called for so I just started in whatever week I needed to in order to make the plan fit my race date so like 10-12 weeks out. I think they seem 'long' b/c he makes his plans so that someone with no base can start and use them to run a race.

I did intervals during my last half training/during the half. I was running 5-6 miles, but just was having a hard time increasing and staying healthy. I did run 4 mins/walk 1 min.
I'm not a fan of Galloway training plans though. They are too long with too many long runs for my liking.
I did a combo of Galloway and Hal Higdon. I went up to 11 miles vs 10 and cut a couple of the 5 milers down to 3.
This might not be helpful at all, but my half was great, and I plan to do a similar plan for my next one.
I take it you are doing the Madison Mini in August? How does it compare with the other Madison half?
The Madison half was the one I planned to do and cancel. Sad face. I know my friends love that one.
If I'm in town, I plan to do the Mini in August. I hear it's a lot of fun. I'm not sure how they all compare. I've only ever heard positive things about all of them.
There's also the Madison half in November, but I'll be at Wine & Dine half then.
I'm thinking of doing the haunted hustle half. I did the 10k last year and loved it! I don't know anyone who has done that one through.
I might be doing the GB marathon half next year. I have a couple friends who are packer fans and want to do it.
