Ack! I've never done marathons closer than 11 months apart. We'll see how this 6 week apart thing goes. I registered this morning.
I'm prepare to soak in this beautiful race and just see what the weather and my body feel like on race day. I think I'm also in for culture shock. 400 runners earlier this month vs. 10,000 at Grandma's.
Woot woot!!! I have heard so many wonderful things about this race. I think you might like the slightly larger atmosphere. It's a lot more than 400, but it's not like you're jumping into a 20,000+ race. It might be a happy medium for you. You're going to kill it!
Thanks, all! I love that it's a big race where you can still sign up 3 weeks before race day. I suppose because it's a smaller city with no major population center close by. The 1/2 is a lottery though.
Now I've just got to attack 18-20 miles this weekend and head into taper again. Maybe this will cure my marathon big for awhile too!
I've heard great things about this one too. I know you've said you're at peace with not going sub-4 on this one, and I bet going in with minimal expectations is going to lead to a great race!
Good luck!! You'll have to share how it feels doing them so close together. My 2 this year are 3 months apart and I feel crazy for doing them that close

Grandma's is going to be my little sister's first marathon. She ran her first half marathon in February... This sounds like such a great race. Have fun!
