Hi I used to post on here maybe a year and a half a go then I got PG and couldn't run anymore. I have an adorable 5 month old now and I'm ready to get back into shape. I just joined a gym and I feel so lost. I just head to a treadmil and run because I don't know what else to do.
Today I did the free session with a trainer hoping to learn how to use the weight machines and I didn't learn anything. He just had me do different ab workouts, and squats. What would be a great way for me to learn about strength training on my own?

Welcome back! Do they have group strength classes at your gym? Those are a great way to learn new exercises. I also have The Women's Health Big Book of Exercises which is awesome! Pictures of all the exercises, and tons of workout plans in the back of the book.
