"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
well she is doing great. I didn't write about it on her, but in recovery they put her on a heating pad and it burnt her really really bad. It is still healing. I don't know what to do with this issue. My h dealt with it all, and was so stressed he didn't light them on fire like I would have.
So her leg/ stump, attitude is great but her burns are still healing.
Oh no poor baby. I don't understand how the vet could let that happen.

This actually happened to my family's dog when I was in HS. She was having a knee redone and they left her on the heating pad too long. It was really Terri's and my family was absolutely irate.
She ended up wearing a t-shirt for several months to keep her from getting at the burns. Eventually her hair grew over the spots but certain places were bald after that.
I believe my family settled with the vet (my dad is a lawyer) but if you have any questions or want any tips for dealing with a pup with burns let me know.

Glad she is adjusting well, but holy crap! Idk what I would do, but it wouldn't be pleasant.

In our old apartment, there was a car that lived downstairs (ironically, also named Molly) and she and my dog Molly would have staring contests for days. And then this is one of my all time favorites.
my dog Bentley suffered from burns from a kennel dryer at a groomer. In addition to antibiotics, the vet gave us this cream/gel stuff that was a miracle cream. It worked so great for us. www.calvetsupply.com/product/Derma_Gel/Veterinary_Wound_Care
if you are having any specific issues related to the burns, let me know. He had massive burns all of his body, so we dealt with it for months. I'm so sorry
they gave her cream that has worked well but I am still pissed. The one left to heal now is the size of a quarter. It was as long as my palm when we first saw it. It literally melted her fur:/ everywhere it is healing is growing in golden retriever hair.. Surrounded by her poodle hair. It is odd. Lol
OMG this breaks my heart. :-(
Also, as kind of an LOL, Sheldon has retriever fur on the elbows of his front legs, but that's the only spot! The groomer told us today that he's the only doodle she's worked with with hair that grows out evenly
My Sadie is sorry to be late to the party but she wants to be noticed, too! I posted this photo on FB the other day and my cousin's wife said "It's called roaching (like a dead cockroach) and almost all greyhounds do it and apparently other breeds too. I found out it is so they can breath better."
It makes so much sense to me that Saders does this because she has a hard time breathing, awake or asleep, unfortunately!
