I'm doing it--and I just got knocked off as having a course record on a run--by what I think might be a mistake (recorded a run but really a ride---seriously--I don't think this lady did 4:54 miles for 16 miles!)
I want to ask her if it's a mistake--too pushy lol.

I actually reported the segment and the two other top segments. I'm sorry but no one in my area is running a world record 800 meters on our bike path (Yes, someone reported they had run a 1:40 800..Um no, you didn't.)

It's an interactive gps app that tracks your workouts (you can link a Garmin to it too)--cycling and running. You find your friends or other people in your area that are working out in the same places and you can match up your workout times.
You get little trophies, awards etc for having the fastest times on courses and segments of courses (so it's competitive), you can sign up to do challenges etc.
It's really popular with cyclists and is gaining popularity with runners. I also like it b/c if you want to FIND runs in new areas--basically world wide--you can.
Also, did I mention the competitiveness lol? If you are the fastest person on a course you get to be King/Queen of the mountain. (QOM) I recently knocked off a GUY for QOM on a trail run on the App. Trail who had been sitting there for a YEAR. haha. Oh glory.
I use it! I love it! PM me to add you so we can follow each other! I love strava, it's great to see all my friends out and about doing cool stuff. I just came back from Svalbard where I used it on a sea kayak trip and a bike ride. Unsurprisingly there were no segments found in the area. Ha!
I do use it and like it because you can put your equipment (shoes) on your run log and keep track of the miles on them. The only problem I have is: 1) I forget to go and put my shoe info in (duhh) and 2) I still can't figure out how to put in a non-garmin run.
I do really like how user friendly the new garmin site is but you can't put your equipment info in under the basic account.
One of my more serious runner friends used it and invited me to join. So I have an account and one friend but ive never used it. I guess I should explore it more.
