Morning!!!
Weekend was great :-) Went to a brunch with DH on Friday, which was a lot of fun :-) Saturday we relaxed and went grocery shopping, and then watched House of Cards. That show is addicting!
Week is starting out okay :-) No plans today - just working and then heading home to relax. Need to figure out what is for dinner!
QOTD: I miss movies in the park outside, grilling out and just enjoying the 3 months of lovely weather!
I actually really love that the ex-pats leave for the summer (because of the heat) which means there is less traffic and it's quiet. It's a really nice time to be here :-)

Hi! The weekend was nice and relaxing. No great plans for today, just housework (still no job yet).
QOTD: I miss the beach. Long Island has some really nice beaches and my parents live ten minutes from one. I like summer in Germany because it never really gets too hot. I hate the heat.

Good evening! I'm just back from tap class and cooling off while watching a music quiz show. The weekend was pretty easy. We took my MIL to see the local theater group's Jesus Christ Superstar. It was the first time I had seen it, so I was pretty excited. It was fairly well done and I was pretty impressed. Other than that it was just hanging out at home with laundry and housecleaning.
QOTD: I'm not a big summer person. If I ever win the lottery, my dream is to winter in both hemispheres. But I do miss sno-balls. I know they are not uniquely a New Orleans thing, but I've never seen them done the same as in New Orleans. And I could really go for a Frozen Mint sno-ball for dinner on a summer Saturday. Summer in Australia? I really haven't found anything I like about it. I hate being hot, I dislike beaches, and I can't stand being outside and sweaty. I love that my house has a good, efficient a/c!
Hi there, I am around and working. My life has been really, really great lately. I am very happy.
The weekend was fantastic. Among other things, a longtime friend of mine is visiting from abroad so it was lovely to see her and to catch up. Today is a typical workday but the weather is gorgeous. I was able to go out for a bit to run an errand and pop into a cafe to grab a latte.
QOTD: I will answer this by comparing where I live to Europe. I do absolutely love summer. I don't think I've met a summer anywhere that I didn't like. It might be possible, I'm sure, I just haven't encountered it.
I miss lounging in the grass in the parks in the summer. I guess you can do that here but it is nicer to do over there. I also miss how much less "buggy" it gets over there. I mean, there are bugs but not in the quantity or size usually that you get around here. They don't seem to be such a nuisance. I also miss how there was very little poison ivy. It grows all over the place here. Over there I was a lot more relaxed about walking through the woods whereas here I have to be a lot more vigilant.
I also miss some of the delicious ice creams with fresh local dairy and fruit.
Edited to add what I love here: I actually love this amount of humidity. I'm very conditioned to it and I also love to swim. There are certain days here in which going to the swimming pool gives you a certain kind of pleasure that is hard to describe. It's just the right blend of heat and humidity, when you are in a pool, it feels perfectly refreshing. It can be great in other places, but there's a specific way that it is great here. Also, the city itself is nice during most of the year, but it is quite nice when it is warm in my opinion. It is also very beautiful and green.
I had a good weekend. I got H a new surfboard for an early Father's Day gift on Friday and I borrowed it for a ride on Saturday morning. I also got to go shopping without DD in two and got two cute new shirts, that was a treat! Other than that, just mega laundry since we were in Thailand for most of last week.
QOTD:
I miss reasonable summer temperatures and backyard BBQs. Good Lord it is hot here already!
Here, I am pretty excited about six hour work days for the month of July!
I went to a baseball game this evening. I've been in and out here sadly.
QOTD: well in CH I miss swimming in the lake and the local strawberries. Living in the US now. But if I left I would miss the Fourth of July festivities in my hometown.
Spent the weekend drinking in the sun. We have to make the most of the few summer days we have, because we never know how many more we'll get!
QOTD: I miss spending the day lounging on the lake with friends, drinking beer and eating great food.
My favorite thing about summer in Norway is that no one takes it for granted, so on a nice day, everyone goes to the park or out to the islands. It creates such a great sense of community.
How was your weekend? Anything fun going on today?
QOTD: What do you miss the most about summer in your home country? What is do you like the most about summer in your host country?
Sorry I'm late on this. The weekend was fun. Went to a food festival on Saturday where I ate and drank like a queen. They even had chocolate peanut butter ice cream!!!!! And the jerk pork was the best I've eaten. Yum. Sunday, we went to a 'meet the baby' prosecco party. Love the bubbles and the little baby boy seriously looked like an old man more so than any other baby I've seen in the past. Very cute.
Yesterday I had my work at UCL and then did made bbq chicken fajitas. Today, I'm going to the gym to lift and then the British Library to do some research.
QOTD: I miss summer weather back in the east coast - lots of sun, going swimming at the pool or beach. With few exceptions, the weather in London over the summer is not fabulous. We might get a week or two here and there in the 80s and sunny, but most of the time it's either cloudy or cold or rainy. It sucks. What I do like about summer here is that we don't have a lot of mosquitos/other biting bugs and it really, really gets green and lush (thanks rain)...so when it is nice out it's gorgeous in the parks. I also like the fact that I can take a picnic to a gazillion parks in the area plus have a nice alcoholic drink out in the open. And I do love that I don't need air conditioning - I'm not a fan of hot. But I would like sunny more often.
