The Killing Season 1 - Spoilers

I know this is old, but I just finished S1 and am a little baffled. Who was Holder talking to? I still believe Richmond did it I guess. So is S2 a continuation?. Somehow I thought it would wrap up all tidy!

At the end of season 1 it is unclear who Holder is talking to, but it is explained at the beginning of Season 2.

Is S2 airing now or out on DVD? We don't get cable.

I really enjoyed this series, but was disappointed by the last episode. For some reason I thought they would have a brand new mystery in S2. I'm intrigued by the idea of a larger conspiracy though,
