When it's nasty hot, I remind myself that I'd rather be running in extreme heat than extreme cold. Not that I don't still bitch about it....I love complaining!
My last two long runs have been HORRIBLE because of the heat. My H and I even tried going at 8 one Sunday, thinking it'd be okay cuz it's still pseudo-early... Hahaha what was I thinking?

The longer I live here, the more I come to accept it. Slow down, hydrate often, and expect to feel like a swamp monster the entire time. On the plus side, with the adaptations from training in the heat, you'll have a real advantage for fall races!
I have purposely been working out in some heat, every other day (it's not bad in the mornings here at all, but if I wait until mid-morning, it nears 100). If you do 30 minutes of workout in the heat, every other day, you will acclimate sooner. I am not sure you can acclimate to humidity though since you basically sweat out everything you drink.
I feel like the more I embrace it, the easier it is. hmm, good luck

You would think I would be adapted by now. I grew up here went to college further south, and the only place I have lived besides ATL- S.Florida.
Nope. Clearly no adapting going on here....
Kidding. I think a lot of my lag is coming from not running much last summer. My miles for the marathon didn't bulk up until fall/winter.

Yea. So true. I have been trying to run at lunch. But I have lots of good excuses. I just need to suck it up and doooo iittt. However, running at lunch is feeling a lot more like walking on the moon lately.

Normally I run before the sun is even really up to avoid the crazy heat and humidity. I'm doing the running leg of the Augusta HIM relay in September so this year I am learning to run at 7 and 8 in the morning. EEEEEWWWWWWW...it's so gross and hot and humid.

I'm the opposite. Give me sub freezing temps over summer heat any day.
