I've only posted here a couple of times but hope it is okay if I post this. I finsihed my first half on Sunday with a time of 2:12:33. A year and a half ago I could barely run a mile and spent my whole life saying I wasn't a runner.
I started 18 months ago, trying to lose the baby weight after #2 and just seeing if I "could be" a runner. My husband and I both did the race on Sunday and I also ran with 3 girlfriends and a few college friends of my husbands.
It was the greatest experience ever - from a non runner to a half marathoner. I'm itching for the next one already!
congratulations! Your story is similar to mine, minus the kids. 2010 I said I would never run a mile. Four years later and I have run 4 halves, I am totally hooked!
Welcome to the club--that is a great time for your first half!
