Small breed puppy food?

We are wanting to transition our 5 mo old pup to a quality food We are currently feeding Purina One Healthy Puppy that the shelter sent home with us.

It's been a long while since I've had a puppy & I've never had a small breed before. Suggestions welcome.

Did you glance at the FAQ at the top of the page? There should be a full list of good foods. I'd steer clear from gainless till he gets older.

I would definitely be switching your pup as that's not a very good food but shelters gotta give what they have.

We feed Costco's grainfree right now.

I did look there as a matter of fact, & at a glance, I didn't see any that stood out as being for small breeds or puppies. I'll look again since not many people seem to be posting today.

Calcium levels are more of a concern with large breed puppies than with small breeds. Pretty much anything except Orijen All Life Stages and the Canidae grain-free All Life Stages that markets itself as "small breed" is a sales gimmick. Taste of the Wild has a good All Life Stages formula when it's not being recalled, but the calcium level is a bit high for a large breed (which you don't have to worry about).
