Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

Bad group. I've run on poorly lit streets before with my group and they tell everyone ahead of time to wear a headlamp. They also go over the route before the run so everyone knows where to go.

Yeah, that sounds awful. My first season running with my group, I would often get separated from the main group, but over the past two years they have gotten much better about this. Also, my coach hands out printed loops before hand (so everyone knows where they are going) and we run during daylight hours for official group runs. In the dark, we would absolutely not leave anyone behind.

There is a weekly 5k run for the running team I joined and weekly track workouts. The weekly 5k run we meet at 6:45pm and the route is explained every single time and if you are a first timer they usually tell you at check-in as well. Its a fairly simple loop around a lake but the wintertime route cuts thru an industrial park. Either loop (summer or winter) they have someone at each cross road to direct people. The weekly track workouts are posted on FB in advance, I haven't been to one yet but assume they are similarly organized as it is the same folks in charge.

Bad group. You can definitely find a much better one!! Not sure where you are located but look into Moms RUN This Town. There are nearly 1,000 chapters. It is free and pretty informal, and the activity level varies by location. My chapter is super active and I have made some amazing friends out of it in addition to lots of support and motivation that running groups should provide.
