I think people eat a lot more than what they put there. Sometimes there are threads where people put how close they were to their goals the day before, and there's usually chocolate and ice cream involved, lol.
When I run 11 miles, there is no "apple w/ pb if I need it." It's more like "apple w/ pb before I eat your fucking face OMGIAMSTARVING."
I feel like this when I run 3 miles!
I need to stay out of these calorie counting posts. I'm dumbfounded my how few calories people are eating paired with how much their bodies are moving.
If you think that's scary, guess who's back on her HCG diet, even after her doctor said that the diet put her at a high risk of developing cervical, uterine or ovarian cancer?
Ugh, I wish some people could see how much damage they are doing to their body by not eating enough and exercising too much. When I was 18-19, I ate max 1200 calories a day (and I'm 5'10" so this was wayy too little) and exercised like a fiend 6-7 days a week.
I lost over half of my hair, didn't menstruate for years and basically shut down my body's metabolism. Now - I'm certain as a direct result - I have a severe thyroid problem and my body no longer produces ANY thyroid hormone. I have to take medicine for the rest of my life. But heyyy, I was a size 0!!
For the most part people lie like rugs in those. I've seen pictures. There are maybe 3 girls on there that I truly think are eating like that. The rest are aspiring to eat that and eating ice cream in between. Or they are in the middle of a huge weight loss effort.
I always think I'm not eating enough, and I exercise like a mad woman. I post in those threads on H&F sometimes. I'm never starving though, I think I balance out protein, carbs, and fat quite well and feel satisfied all day. What I post in those threads is exactly what I eat - believe me, I wish I was eating tons of ice cream. I'm desperately trying to lose weight, so I'm watching everything I eat and doing crazy amounts of exercise.
I do eat more than 1470 calories, though. Usually a few hundred more, and balance it out with exercise. Anyone on my MFP friends list could vouch for me
