Get rid of this. I thought yesterday it was a pimple. Today is looks terrible. This is my first and I am sure it is stress related. How can I get rid of this non sense?

Abreva, stat! I had a cold sore once in grade 1 and didn't have them again until last year when I was really stressed out. Now they happen every time the seasons change. Huge pain in the ass. Anyway, Abreva all day is the only thing I've found that seems to make them go away. Should be gone in about 4 days. Don't kiss your H!
Just as an addendum, I always got a little tingling feeling on my lip before a cold sore erupted. If I put Abreva on my lip when I first feel the tingling, the cold sore doesn't really develop as large or liquid as they do if I don't pre-emptively apply the Abreva.
In clinical trials, Abreva reduced the duration of a cold sore by one day.
I recommend getting a prescription for famcyclovir--take it when the eruption starts and it will be stopped dead in its tracks.
:Y: Abreva made me feel like I was at least trying, but didn't really do anything. I have a bottle of generic zoverax (sp) in the medicine cabinet. Apparently the prescription is a cure, because I haven't gotten a tingle since I filled it.
i get these all the time. AND BAD. I mean like 5 at a time, they are so big and painful
RIght now get abreva ASAP, then get a dr prescription for valtrex. It works wonders and helps them from coming back (as soon)
Do this! Make sure you get a rx for next time, it's too late for it now. Unfortunately there will be a next time. So when you feel a weird tingling feeling where the sore is now, you'll have it ready and it won't turn into a cold sore. Sorry.
Abreva works well but I usually just put rubbing alcohol on it with a q-tip throughout the day. Maybe that's a terrible thing to do, but it works for me.
Abreva doesn't really work. If you want to stop it before it gets big, regular Nail Polish Remover on a Qtip. It burns like a motherfucker, but gets rid of them in one day. It won't get big, it won't those little fluid filled spots, it won't scab.
I don't know what's in the Nail Polish Remover that does it (perhaps the acetone), but it literally stops a cold sore in its tracks. It starts deflating them in minutes.
