We have only been to the Bahamas. It was a nice trip but we probably won't go back. We are dying to go to St. Lucia- our friends that have traveled extensively say it is by far their favorite destination. Most natural beauty, best beaches, and most exciting to explore.
I've done Aruba, curaçao, Dominican Republic, St. Thomas and St. John plus the Bahamas and Turks and Caico on a cruise. Of those I loved St. John the best because it was very small and authentic. But I'd probably pick Curaçao to visit again because driving in St. John was stressful. It really depends on what kind of vacation you're going for.
St John, USVI and Jost Van Dyke, BVI both are laid back and relaxing. St Thomas, USVI and Tortola, BVI are too busy IMO.
St John has better places to eat and also fine dining. Jost does not. Jost has better toes in the sand great music and bars on the beach. Always fun to spend a day in the sun drinking painkillers at Soggy Dollar.
Tell us more about what you are looking to do while in the Caribbean.... island hop, drink, eat great food, snorkel, dive, sunbath? All of the above?
St. John and Curacao. We love off the beach snorkeling and had the best experience at these two islands. Both are really relaxed and have wonderful beaches and sceneries. We can't wait to go back to either one.

We are looking to relax on the beach, drink, and sightsee. Neither of us have been to the Caribbean, so we are looking somewhere easy to navigate. We will be flying from either NYC or PHL, so a direct flight is a huge plus. Front runner right now is Antigua.

I've been to Nassau (Bahamas), st Thomas, Jamaica, grand caymen, st marten, Belize, Honduras, Cozumel, Dominican Republic. Grand Caymen is by far my favorite. The island is beautiful and the locals are friendly. I love swimming with the stingrays. All the beaches are public so you can go anywhere. The shopping is good too.
No direct flights to St John or Jost. Both take a flight into St Thomas or San Juan. And then a ferry from St Thomas (to either St John or Jost) or a small puddle jumping plane from San Juan to Tortola, and then a ferry.
St John is great because you can rent a small villa with a pool. Some days are beach days, hike some days, and feel the pool gravity other days. Lots of hiking and historical sight seeing also on St John. And there are many really good places to eat. Caribbean Lobster is so good, very sweet.
We really enjoyed the locals in the BVI. Very welcoming.

LOVE St. Martin. We have been a couple of times, and can't wait to go back. Beautiful beaches, nice people, and awesome dining. I recommend it to everyone.
We've been on cruises, but our favorite stop was St. Lucia. It was gorgeous, the locals were friendly, and we went on an amazing tour.
St. Martin was fun because we watched planes land at their international airport. Old San Juan was a great place to start/end our cruises. Dominica was beautiful and undeveloped. I generally like islands with mountains as opposed to flat islands (I can see beautiful flat beach environments at home, lol).

Turks and Caicos hands down. St. Martin our second. We have been to Turks three times and both
Philly, and if will to drive to Newark, have direct flights but they are usually onlt on Saturdas and Sundays. The week trips have a stop usually in Charlotte. Providentiales is easy to navigate and Grace Bay has been the top beach in the world if not second for years; basically, it is amazing and a foodie dream.
