This is a long story, but I am kind of at a loss. I am trying to find homes for the cats that keep showing up at our house. These are stray cats - the town I live in has a huge feral cat problem.
When we moved here, we had three cats. There are currently 6 cats in my house, and a 7th outside. This is not something we can maintain, both because of costs and because really, this is just way too many.
The city animal shelter is very high kill - they put down cats immediately upon arrival. The humane society is full. We have called every rescue we can find within about 100 miles, and no one has money or space.
So, I am trying anything I can to get the word out. We live in East Texas, and I will drive a cat to meet a new owner if I have reason to believe that it would be a good home. There are two kittens and one young (about 8 months) female that we have already had spayed. We are planning on getting the outside cat spayed after I get paid next week - she is definitely an outside only cat (we have tried bringing her in), but she is super sweet and loving. I wish we could find a place for her that is safer than where we live, in the middle of town.
I know this is long, and random, and a long shot. If I get flamed for trying to give away cats, so be it. But if you know someone who would be a good cat owner, please pass this along. Or if you can think of something we haven't to try to find homes for them, please let me know.

I think its fine for you to rehome cats that aren't yours, you won't get flamed. Personally, I would go on petfinder, find a cat rescue near you and ask them to courtesy list on petfinder. Write really good bios, take some good pictures.
