Lol. I did in the other thread. It was awesomely imperfect.
On a boat! (high5)
With a goat.
Of course, this was after about 3 different proposals that he had taken back because they weren't right. Of course, one or two of those I refused to entertain anyhow because he was a wasteoid.

I don't know...why don't you ask P how he plans on proposing?
For real, I should have known NOT to marry my XH when he proposed. He decided that on top of the CN tower in Toronto was the PERFECT place to propose...except I'm terrified of heights and nearly had a panic attack in the elevator up.
H asked me out on a "fancy date" We were really young, broke and in college. I had no clue it was going to happen I was just excited to go on a date that was more than cheap pizza and beer. (Oh college.) Anyway I noticed at dinner he seemed a bit nervous. He drank two really strong margaritas super fast. After dinner he asked if I wanted to go get ice cream and walk through the gardens in campus. It was a special garden to us since we picnicked there and hung out a lot during our time there. I said sure. The ice cream place was closed so we walked anyway. He proposed in front of a beautiful fountain. It was lovely. We then went home and had lots of naked fun.
We got married in the same college town. We had our rehearsal dinner at the same restaurant and took wedding pictures in the same garden.

xh proposed several times, the first of which was about 2 months into our dating relationship (red flag anyone??). When I finally said yes, it was a very non-occasion. He did get down on one knee, in the middle of the bedroom, surrounded by the piles of dirty laundry that I'd sorted so I could wash. Romantic, no?
When we were waiting for my luggage at the airport. I had just come back from studying abroad. He wrote me a letter and when I finished reading it he was on one knee in front of me
It truthfully was sweet, but he did big empty gestures once in awhile because it's what you were "supposed" to do. He also talked in the letter about how he wasn't sure if we were going to make the long distance thing while I was gone. well, huh.
Along the Chesapeake Bay at Inner Harbor in MD. We had gone to the aquarium and were about to have dinner at a nice restaurant. I noticed he was sweaty and nervous all day, but he can't swim and the water (deep enough for a ship to dock) is right there and there's no fence or rail... and he has anxiety. So I figured it was that. Nope. We walked all the way around the Harbor and he pulled a ring out and proposed. My reaction was laughter. I laughed for probably 10 minutes. That really should have told me something. But I was 23 and stoopid.
We were at his family's cottage, just the two of us. It was two days after Christmas. We had dinner plans in town that night at a place we'd often gone to during our dating days.
Before dinner, we walked through this really beautiful park. There was snow on the ground and there were white Christmas lights in the trees and around a gazebo. We were the only ones there. He proposed to me in the park, and then we went out for dinner with silly smiles on our faces.

We were in our living room, in sweatpants, watching a rerun of The Office. lol. We had talked about getting married and had been discussing it pretty frequently at that point, so he decided to go for it. He kind of slid off the couch and onto one knee. SO ROMANTIC. Ha. The ring came a couple days later.
He asked me over the phone. His step-sister nearly killed him for that lol.
Whaaaa? And you said yes?
He travelled most of the week and were in the middle of a huge fight. We both blurted out "But I want to marry you!" at the same time, so it more of a non-proposal.
His step-sister got "If I bought you an engagement ring, would you wear it?" so he was read the riot act and reproposed when we got the ring.
So that you can laugh about how stupid my 21 year old self was:
In a car. He was driving, and seriously just handed me this box all nonchalant and said "So?". Yeah. I spent many months convincing myself that "low-key" and "private" had been what I wanted, anyway.

A man of few words. lol
MY FIL proposed to my MIL in a similar, super romantic fashion. He handed her the box and said, "Here."

You?
The unofficial one was kind of funny - we were on our way to do some errands and somehow marriage got brought up in the conversation (not marriage between us) and he said something off the cuff like, "Well that's going to happen with us, right?" And I was kind of taken aback because we hadn't really discussed it prior to it slipping out like this before. Later that day I asked him if we could talk about the remark he made, which ended up being the marriage discussion and at the end we had decided to marry. I told him it doesn't count until he officially asks.
The official one was that we went out wine tasting one day to some local wineries. After the second one, we were laughing and having a good time and we were about to leave and get into the car when he started wandering over to the grape vines. They were all fenced in and he said, "let's go look at the grapes up close." It was kind of weird to me, but I induldged him and we climbed under the fence to the middle of the grape vine row and we were tasting the grapes and I was photographing them, when he grabbed me from behind and hugged me. I told him I was having a nice time with him and then he got down on his knee and asked me.

Ohhh snow and christmas lights. I love this story.
