Hi! It's finally the weekend here, thank goodness. No clue why but it just feels like it's been a long week!
I'm at work, and then I think DH and I are going bowling after work for a fun date night :-) He leaves on Saturday for a work trip, so just trying to spend some time together! Then he wants to get ice cream, and we'll relax at home.
QOTD: Hhhhmmm...well this is a favorite all year round, but it's especially refreshing in the summer, and that's lemon mint drinks. Not sure if its a GCC thing or what, but it's a nice refreshing combo that always cools me down in this crazy heat! (It's 43 C today)! I am sure brit can sympathize.
Happy Thursday! What's up with you today? Anything interesting going on?
QOTD: What is your favorite local food during the summer?
I put away about 5 loads of dry laundry and put another one up on the line. Yup, true excitement. I am going into town to meet up with a friend for a bit and then back home to watch the USA in the World Cup Field Hockey Semi-finals. They came in 1st in their division which is an upset of major proportion.
QOTD: inexpensive and lots of lamb is one reason I love the UK - so we use it in our tandoor to make tandoori lamb. We only use the tandoor on warm/hot sunny days so it's a rare treat!
Hi there, the day is not too exciting. Going out to dinner later.
QOTD: This is a tough question. I would say that I like all the refreshing drinks and desserts. I also like fresh vegetables. I am a fan of asparagus and zucchini/courgettes.
We had tea with an old aunt this morning and then a second meeting with a child-minder for LO. I think we are going to stick with her. It is weird to pay a childminder and go to work to only come out with 300 extra a month in the end...
QOTD: I'm really enjoying the charcuterie right now. A bit of cold meat is great when it is too hot to cook! I also love a glass of rosé when it is warm outside!
@jennybee - It is so freaking hot and humid. Nearly 11PM and 91*/78% humidity, feels like 112*. Bletch.
I went shopping with DD tonight. It is super sale season here. I got three new bras and two maxi dresses. I can't wait to wear them!
QOTD: I don't know if I have a local summer favorite. I have just been sucking down Gatorade like it's my job because I am constantly dehydrated. That should be the national beverage here!

The sale is called the summer of surprises :-) I was there last year around this time & the deals were awesome! definitely a good time to shop!!!

It's Friday morning here now. Not much is set to happen today which is a pretty good thing as it's a rainy, drippy, cold grey day. We may go visit the travel agent about booking flights to the US for our cruise in January but that will depend on whether DH has the morning off. Other than that, the big plan for the day is Fish & Chip Night. I am very excited about not having to cook tonight!
QOTD: I don't really know if there are any summer treats locally. I really miss sno-balls in New Orleans. It was always fun to get a large sno-ball as dinner on a hot summer Saturday. I haven't seen anything similar here, though DH will sometimes get me an ice cream on a stick on his walks in the summer, which is a nice treat. And we always stop at a particular 7/11 for "frozen cokes" on the drive home from Melbourne in the summer. That's a nice treat too.
