I have all the books I could need, and what more could I need than books? I shall only engage in commerce if books are the coin. -- Catherynne M. Valente
I agree with scotty. I'm really upset that some of those companies are on the list (John Deere?) but how do they get that designation? Yahoo's shoddy reporting?
And by they, I mean their CEO/son of their founder. The CEO of Anthro was an openly gay man who is in a 30 year relationship. When it came out that the CEO/son of the founder was donating to anti-gay causes, he resigned in disgust.

For me, I boycott Chik-fil-A because of their support of Focus on the Family, and now there is even more reason to boycott them. I'm sad to see these others on the list, because I just cannot get behind companies who are bigoted.
I read an article today about Chick-fil-A and it made me sad because their food is good. But I can't eat there.
My kids are going to be *very* ticked off, but I just read this article and don't think I'll be taking them back there. They love it, and it's the only "fast food" they get, so our lunch options just got pretty limited. Guess I'll be packing a lot more often, now!
Okay. The "I'm not surprised John Deere hates gays" is annoying. They are a huge innovative company. Most of the people who work there have always lived in big cities, its not like its run by a bunch of hay seeds. Also, I think that it is really crappy that its Okay to stereotype farmers or "country folk" or whatever. It's not Okay to stereotype anyone.

I tried to find what ToysRUs did and all I could find was Million Moms were boycotting because TRU was selling a comic with 2 guys getting married. Same with Kelloggs. I found an article that Kelloggs told a Catholic League to "snap, crackle, pop off" on behalf of John Stewart but the whole article was blocked.boo

The comic was Astonishing X-Men #50 from Marvel. And then MM were getting people to also boycott DC for revealing that the first Green Lantern is gay.
They wanted people to send letters to both DC and Marvel to get them to not print or sell the comic. Yeah...because that's going to work... I picked up the X-Men comic. ;D
