I've been meaning to post but I wanted to include everything. Here is a run-down of what we did in your city. Other than the subway construction that led to some confusion for us, we had a great time!
Friday - Checked into hotel, then went to Times Square - Drinks (several) at the Westin Bar 10. They had a decent blood orange “manhattan” though I am not sure I would call it a manhattan. It was like a fruity whiskey martini. - Burger Joint for dinner. Awesome burger and fries, but we were too full to have the shake. - Comedy Cellar. The comedians were hit or miss, mostly miss. It’s ok because I surprisingly drunk at this point. Sadly we really wanted to go out after but we hit some awful construction issues on the subway and by the time we figured things out we just went to the hotel instead. Saturday night = cabs!
Saturday - Brooklyn bagel & Coffee Co. Amazing whole wheat bagel, and unlike DH I believe that a bagel is merely a vehicle for cream cheese so I enjoyed my bacon and scallion spread thoroughly! - Walked around the Freedom Tower. Did not have enough time to do the full tour but the museum was pretty impactful. - Brunch at Donatella. Went here with a travelzoo for the unlimited mimosas, it was a decent place. - Chelsea Market. Dh wouldn’t let me buy the $70 tub of Nutella, boo. We had gelato at l’arte del gelato and an espresso from an Italian market. Highly recommend! - Went back to Burger Joint and ordered the shake! Although it was amazing, I’m pretty sure it is what started my stomach issues. - Dinner at Osteria del Circo. Another travelzoo. I did have an amazing appetizer there, the salmon tartar, with sweet chili oil, avocado tapenade, orange, and raddish. - Drinks at J Bird. We really liked this place. DH ordered a honey-nut old fashioned, the KSBW (lemongrass old fashioned) and I had the J-Bird swizzle. All three were great! - Dangerfield's comedy club. We enjoyed this place much more than Comedy Cellar. Ryan Reiss is hilarious!
Sunday **I wasn’t feeling well after so much indulging so I didn’t eat very much, which meant poor DH didn’t either, bad wife award winner right here.**
- Coffee at cafe grumpy. Note to self, we are not used to “good” coffee. My iced coffee had a floral note, which was unusual. - Murray's bagels. Another amazing bagel. - Grand Central Market. Unfortunately the minimums were too large so we didn’t get anything. Damn you sensitive stomach! - Random street Pizza, yum! - Drinks at Rare Rooftop before heading home. DH got to watch sports and we both got to rest our feet. I really don’t know that I could walk that much on a consistent basis.
