I love Anna Karenina. On the one hand, I loved P&P and Atonement and they are by the same director. On the other hand, KK & Jude Law. I'm going to see it no matter what though.
LHC, I also do not care for Keira Knightley. I love Anna Karenina, but condensing it down to just a love story seems blech to me. I have never seen any TV or movie versions of it, though, so I may watch it.
I read it for the first time a few months ago. It was interesting, but kind of all over the place.
It reminded me of Anton Chekov's plays: We are Russian, and miserable, with lots of complicated relationships, blahblahblah.
I have a hard time seeing Kiera Knightley as Anna. I know her husband was way older, but I thought of her as older than late 20s, old enough to be cougar-ish. KK just doesn't seem like she'd have the ... presence? Gravitas?

So, I will conclude that you have brainwashed and forced to like them
I love the stories. I just get bogged down in the middle. They are still far superior to the worst book ever written, Tess of the D'Ubervilles. It's not Russian, so if you tell me you love that one, we may have to swear to be enemies forever.
And as much as I want to hate Keira Knightley, I love her movies. Except Domino, Domino can burn in a fire for all eternity except for the hot dude that was in it. He can stay.
I also try to hate Jude Law but I often like the job he does in his movies. So I'm pretty much dying to see this movie even if I'm sure Vronsky will be about as compelling, attractive, and fierce as Hayden Christiansen's Anakin Skywalker.
