This doesn't top finding a snake in the house, but I woke up this morning to find my cats chasing a bat around our bottom floor. I had to scoop up the cats and lock them in a room so that I could catch it. It ended up flying up to the first floor and rattling around above the kitchen cabinets.
It finally decided to hang off the edge of the top of the cabinets and I was able to get close enough by standing on a stool to grab the thing in a towel. I took it outside and let it free. It was actually kind of cute once it wasn't dive bombing my head, but those things have some tiny but sharp looking teeth. I hope it finds its way back to its home, once I got it outside and it oriented itself it was flying all over the neighborhood looking a little wonky.

I LOVE bats. A bunch of them lived in my homestay house when I was in the Peace Corps. (Some mice and some hella big bugs too, but they weren't as much fun.)
I had to save two bats when I lived there and it was my first experience seeing them up close and personal. They're just so cute.
