Last night before I got home, DH had B outside with him on his tie out. DH was in the garage and could see most of the yard from where he was. The bunnies have learned how far B can reach on his tie out and will hang out right out side that area and it drives him crazy.
Well apparently yesterday it all became too much because B took off running to chase a bunny and broke the D-ring on his collar. He chased the bunny back into the woods, with DH chasing him and calling him. Then I think it hit him that he wasn't attached to anything anymore and B turned around and came back to DH.
I think we really have to start planning a fence, because I couldn't live with myself if B had run off.
Our yard has a weird set up, and fencing it in will be difficult and expensive. Plus we just spent a big chunk of change to run electric and water to our detached garage and added a generator hook-up... So the "home improvements" budget is pretty much eaten up for the year.
Thank god one of us is always with him when he's outside...
FWIW, Dawg has broken *mumble mumble obscenely high number* of 'rings' on her collars because of this sort of thing...we got a collar w/ a large ring she hasn't been able to pop in like 5 years: www.boomerangtags.com/store/?A=S&ID=30

Thanks for the link! I will definitely check those out! If Dawg hasn't broken this one, I hope 20 lbs of Scottie couldn't!
