ETA: I mean, the US has one of the lowest percentages of adults who smoke in the world and it's still one in five.

I'm not saying that no one smokes at all - I'm saying that the culture has shifted to it not being socially acceptable to do anywhere any more.  It's not ubiquitous like it used to be, and IMO it's weird that it's being photographed glamorously like this.  I feel like I'm in Hot Tub Time Machine or something.

Eh, the photos from ads weren't necessarily in American publications and a couple of them look like they just caught having a smoke break.
