I bought a bunch of shoes for G at several yard sales ranging from size 4 to size 8 so I've yet to buy a new daily pair of shoes for her. I did buy her a pair of gold sandals at Old Navy that she and I both love, but they're more for special occasions since she needs closed-toed shoes for daycare. This is the best pic I have of them:
I love her fuzzy moose slippers with antlers since they're adorable but my favorite "real" shoes were stride rite brown mary janes.
The only shoes he has that fit him right now are some brown sandals that are cute. But, I really want to get him some really tennis shoes, like Nike. It's such a ridiculous purchase though.
M had a pair of cowgirl boots but she out grew them and I haven't been able to find a new pair yet. J has a cute pair of I think you would call them espadrills slip ons, with a little minnie mouse on them that he got her from Cali. She doesn't quite fit them yet but they are pretty darn cute and I don't normally like character type clothing.

DS has worn proper shoe shoes every single day of his life including home from the hospital. So I don't think you're ridiculous. Or we can be ridiculous together! I can look but if we still have his old pair of Nike Air Jordan's I'll make you a screaming deal on them (I'm way behind on posting stuff on CL anyway...)
I mean it's ridiculous to pay $40+ for a pair of Nike's he'll outgrow in two months. He doesn't really need any shoes, but he certainly doesn't need name brand.
He has some navy soft sole fake chucks that I think ate very cute. He also has a pair if boat shoes that I love, but I can't find them. When he was littler we had a grey paor with owls that I loved.
I just today paid $50 for a pair of Sambas at Nordstrom. I definitely feel ridiculous, but they are so cute, and he really does need something to protect his feet when we go watch my H play softball and he cruises and crawls around. Plus I had no idea how to figure out what his size is, so I couldn't order online. Once we were there and trying on shoes I just couldn't resist. He will probably outgrow them before he's actually walking though, lol.
I picked up a pair of pink Ecco Mary Janes at a consignment store and they are great! They are water proof and sturdy and really easy to get on and off. They are the only shoes I put on her.
