Do you think Red believed Piper about the market still being open? Or, do you think Red acted like she believed her and just appreciated her going and trying to hide the truth from her since there was nothing she could do about it?
I think Red believed her and will be pissed as hell when she finds out the truth.

This. I think she will kill her sons when she finds out and will actually kind of appreciate what Piper did for her by lying. There is nothing that red can do while in prison, so there was no point for Piper to tell her the truth. It gives Red some happiness thinking the store is doing well.

Yea, that last scene was pretty fun. I saw it coming when Rosa stole the van and Vee was on the run. Perfect. How much of these story lines are true stories from the inmates, and how many are fiction? I've never read anything about Piper's book, so I don't know anything about her experience that isn't depicted in the show.

I assumed season 1 was based on the book and season 2 is veering off course. For example, isn't she with her H?
I know, I thought I saw a photo of her with the real Larry... eh, i'll look it up eventually, just too lazy right now ;-) Either way, love it all.

There are some things in season 2 from the book -- like the beginning w the transport and the trial in Chicago, though in the book that happens at the end of her sentence. Season 1 had some things based on the book but some were fiction as well. The book is good - I recommend it!
