I've done a week with J as a solo parent while H was in Atlanta and it is tough. I was on an adrenaline rush until the morning of the day when he was coming home and then I just felt like I'd been run over by a truck. LOL Hang in there and do what you've got to do.
Don't feel bad, you need the break. There have been a few weeks recently where I have ended up in a fetal position on the living room floor while DS runs around the apartment like a wild bear. DH hasn't traveled for his new job yet, but there have been many days where he is gone before DS wakes up and doesn't come home until after DS falls asleep. I would die if I had to deal like that for an entire week in a row. Heck, I am so desperate for a sitter I signed up for the gym yesterday in hopes of finding someone at the gym daycare.
My H travels a bunch, too. HATE IT. Some weeks it's just about survival. In preparation for next week's trip, I've already made a reservation to board the dog for 2-3 nights at his favorite daycamp. I don't do it all the time, but after the week we had with him here last trip, I'm just not up for it again.
well, i am surfing the net/eating dinner and I am letting her watch videos on my ipad so that I can eat.
there is rice on the floor, rice and corn in her hair, shit everywhere on the table. she made a mess. i just need like 30 minutes of peace.
This is me at the end of the day. And DH works a very 8-5 type job and only has a 15min commute.
Heck, it's not far from where I am right now... and it's 9:30am. I'm online while the kids sit at the very messy table cutting construction paper into confetti.
