I don't remember the last time I "had" to do this, but if I'm on BC, to skip my period, I stop taking the pills at the end of the 3rd week and start a new pack, right? I'm supposed to get it next weekend, but I'm going to Key West, and would really like to not have to worry about that.

I normally get my period really light and only for about 3 days, but still requires Tampons and making sure I change it (sorry TMI - lol). I'll definitely be sure to keep some pantyliners handy

Ugh, lucky!
The crazy, wanna die, cramps I get the first day make up for it though. It's so bad to the point where I have had a fever, and literally cannot get out of the fetal position for 24 hours.

Oh wow, that is nuts. My cramps suck pretty bad too. Nothing I can buy over the counter even takes the edge off. Boo periods!

OK--since BC's been brought up, have any of you felt a "mental fog" for lack of a better term on hormonal BC? SO was actually talking to me about not being on HBC if I don't want to be (he has a vasectomy, I have the Minera IUD so it's kind of overkill anyway). I've been reading up on going off of hormonal BC, and I'm starting to wonder if I've had some low grade side effects from HBC for years--a difficulty in focus/low-level forgetfulness/just a bit "fuzzy." I chalked all of this up to the stress of a very rigorous grad school program, then stressful jobs, then business ownership, but it's interesting in looking back how these symptoms do coincide with when I started on BCP in grad school. I'm wondering if I might be feeling"fuzzier" lately since I've lost a good bit of weight. I know the hormonal IUD's are supposed to be "one size fits all" for hormone levels, but it's curious.
I'm strongly considering getting the thing removed and seeing if it makes a difference. And in a AW moment, it feels kind of good to have a guy independently consider something that might make me feel better in the long run, and to make an appointment to see the doctor on his own initiative to make sure his snip is still doing the trick for our peace of mind.
