This looks really, really good. Paul Thomas Anderson might want to look out his windows throughout the night for Tom Cruise to come after him bearing... grenades, or garbage trucks.

Grr. I'm in an area with shitty satellite Internet and no phone service, so it won't download. I'm mostly just replying so that it will be easier for me to find this post again tomorrow.
I heard that this is getting major Oscar buzz for Best Picture, Best Actor (Philip Seymour Hoffman), Best Director (Paul Thomas Anderson), and Supporting Actress Amy Adams.
DH and I are more than likely going to see it and Spielberg's "Lincoln."
Won't the Meryl Streep fans be so angry if Daniel Day-Lewis gets his third Best Actor Oscar for acting or Sally Field gets her third? They haven't had that many nominations, whereas she had so many thwarted nominations for that elusive third Oscar. There were so many years when it seemed like she would win, but then she lost to younger actresses like Winslet and Bullock.
I've heard the major Oscar buzz movies are The Master, Lincoln, and Django Unchained. Possibly even Les Miserables. 5 of 8 Gold Derby pundits think Daniel Day-Lewis will win. Supporting Actress could include Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, and Annette Bening. What a loaded category. I could see Leo winning as well.
I love me some Streep, but I'm flamey for Daniel Day-Lewis. If it's close or obvious his performance is better than hers (You talking about her Margaret Thatcher role?), then I'll only be pissed if SHE wins. She just won last year!
I know zilch about this film, but holy cow Joaquin Phoenix. He looks completely different, especially the way he carries his body in the trailer. He's such an amazing actor.
I think Streep was worthy of the Oscar last year for her performance as Margaret Thatcher, though at the time I didn't want her to win. She was the best in her category; Michelle Williams was excellent as Marilyn Monroe as well.
I'm talking about Daniel Day-Lewis being up for Best Actor for Lincoln this year. If he does win, it'll be his third Oscar since he already won for My Left Foot and There Will Be Blood. If Sally Field wins in supporting, I think she plays Mary Todd Lincoln, it'll be her third Oscar after Places in the Heart and Norma Rae.
Streep fans might be mad because she was nominated again and again and again and kept losing, like for Doubt and Julie and Julia, whereas Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field haven't lost all those times. (DDL only lost once as far as I know, and that was for Gangs of New York)
