I dont have one, but my friend swears by her City Mini double. Before her DS was born (While she was pg), we used it to push her DD and my DD on playdates, and it was really smooth. I liked it.
I loved my Bumbleride Indie Twin when my boys were younger- it is so easy to push but a bit on the heavy side when lifting. Now that my boys are 3 I use the City Mini Double when we need a stroller- its lighter and takes up less room in my trunk.

I have had a number of double strollers over the years. Last summer I got the Uppababy Vista with the rumbleseat attachment and I love it. We recently used it in Manhattan and had no trouble getting it in and out of cabs. There is tons of room in the basket and it handles really well.
Another City Mini Double recommendation here. It is so light and easy to steer. We have used it from 4months and we are still using it now.
The storage space underneath is minimal and there are no cup holders (unless you buy an attachment) So we clip our Skip Hop diaper bag to the handles - it is easy to access and we use the front pockets as "cup holders"

I really like the Phil & Ted's Vibe. It's stacked on top of itself instead of a side-by-side, which was important to me. I didn't want anything wide, because I live in a neighbourhood where I do a lot of errands with the stroller and it's just not as easy with a bulky wide one. I use it every single day, since I walk DS1 to daycare and home, which is about 7K round-trip. It's held up very well and both kids are comfortable in it.
My kids are 2.5 years apart so I went for a sit and stand. I love the Joovy Caboose Ultralight for general outings to the mall or zoo. I see it everywhere.
It looks like your oldest is around 2. I'd get a sit and stand in that case. So much easier with a 2, 3 year old. They can get in and out or you can strap them in if you need to. I have the Baby Trend one and have been using it for 3 years. Great stroller. My only complaint is that it is big when folded, but it's a double stroller. Generally we don't take it when we go places, we make the 2 year old and 5 year old walk and baby rides in single stroller. And I usually bring my Beco carrier as well so if/wehn 2 year old needs a ride I can stick baby in the Beco and put 2 year old in stroller.
we just got a baby jogger city select. so far so good. i like that it is tandum instead of side by side. i also like that it can be a single or double. we bought the glider board for DD when she starts to prefer to walk. that way we can leave the extra seat at home and she can ride on the back if she gets tired:)

This. The side by side strollers seemed like they would be hard to navigate while shopping and I like that the city select can be a single for when my son is in preschool. I also plan on purchasing the glider board because I think he will love riding on it.
I love the Phil&Ted that I use. I love that it can be a single or double, how light and compact it is (I have virtually no problems using it on public transit here unless it's rush hour), how easy it is to push.

hmm. this may make me rethink getting a double stroller...
To those with the tandem, like the phil and ted's, i noticed that the infant seat would have to be in the front -- does your older child throw a fit about sitting in the back? I would think that not being able to see in front of them would bug them.

I never used the car seat adapter, but we don't own a car. I put the front seat completely flat and put the second seat in the front for the newborn stage.

We have BOB Duallie, which I love. So easy to steer and that thing can take a beating. We also have a MacLaren Twin Triumph, as a double umbrella stroller. I hate that thing. It's a PITA to unfold. If I had to do it over again, I'd get a City Mini. I prefer SBS over tandem b/c the one in the back would always be kicking the one in the front.

I love our Bumbleride Indie Twin. It's SO easy to push, not bulky at all given it's size, and the storage area underneath is really large - great when you're carrying a ton of stuff for 2 kids. The sunshades are also pretty cool in that you can pull them down so that they cover your kid entirely. This was really great when DD2 was a newborn and was always asleep in the stroller.

i have owned MANY strollers (stroller whore here) and my favorite is the BJC Select by far - b/c of how much it does, the small space it does it in- the hand break rocks, the storage rocks - great drive, etc. If i could only have one double- that would be the one.
I rented a BJCM at disney and loved it- but it wouldn't be practical for many of the things i need a stroller for normally - where a SBS just doesn't fit (sure it fits through doors, but not between clothing racks, between the chairs in my doc's waiting room, etc).
with an older child i think a single-to-double is the best bet b/c you likely won't need a true double that long- but will be nice to have that option. the Phil & Teds is great if you want to use it for long walks/rough terrain (i had one and loved it)...
there are a few other single to doubles- but honestly i think none can compare to the Select - b/c of the stadium seating- both have a good view.... you can turn them around, etc. We use it with the twins + DS1 on a ride-on board on the back- so it handles 3 kids easily, too.

No, my girls actually liked sitting on the bottom because they got to hide.

i have a lot of friends with the P&T and some of them fight for the bottom/back seat.... it's cozy for them, they feel secure- and they can keep toys in the bin by their feet.
I sold mine b/c it isn't great for twins... got the Select instead.

Would you get the City Mini instead of the Duallie, or would you still have both? I'm deciding between the City Select and Duallie. We love our BOB single stroller, so I'm leaning towards the Duallie, but I'm not sure how practical it would be for everyday things like shopping.

No, I wouldn't get the Duallie over a City Mini. I'd get a Duallie AND City Mini, if I had the extra money. We use the BOB for going running, long walks downtown, hikes in our local park, festivals, fairs, zoo's where it's messy, Target (b/c it has wide aisles), etc. I don't feel like the City Mini would be good for those situations. I'd use it as our everyday stroller for doing errands, shopping, dr's appts, etc.

Nope: I was concerned about this, too, but DS loved it. You'd think that it would annoy them to only be able to see out the sides, but he actually had fun with the 'new' stroller and didn't complain at all. I was so shocked that it took zero convincing to get him to ride down there, lol.
We bought an inline b/c where we were living, the doorways/roads/everything were narrow and a side-by-side wasn't a great option. I'm glad we did, now, b/c it's nice to have the option of leaving the doubles kit off and using it as a single stroller.

We have this. I wanted the indie twin (mostly by it was pretty) but this one was a million times lighter, so easy to fold, and cheaper. The baby cars eat adaptor sucks though. But since dd hated her cars eat with a passion that didn't matter to us much.
We have a chariot bike trailer, and I like it quite a bit for the neighborhood walks, but it is huge, heavy, and hard to fold. I never put it in the car.
I had a baby jogger city select (I think? The one that you can have either 1 or 2 seats font to back). It was great for the mall. It was a nice stroller. But it did not push well if I wanted to go on an exercise walk, and it was big and bulky and a pain to fold. I would probably get it if I had twins though, as it is so flexible with being able to do cars seats, prams, and regular seats.
We also briefly had a Phil and teds and I hated it. It pushed horribly IMO. Probably better than a from to back double, but not by much. I think it depends on what you use it for. I use mine almost totally for walks around the neighborhood and to parks. I value how well it pushes. If I am going to the mall, I use a single stroller and either have ds walk, or put dd in an ergo. No stroller double stroller fits well through tightly packed mall stores, they are all a pain.

My boys are 20 months apart. (Almost 2 and almost 4 months) We have the Graco Ready2Grow XL. It has a rear facing jump seat that can be removed to become a sit/stand.
Right now we are using the infant seat readfacing in the back, which is up higher and puts the baby closer to me that some others. DS1 has plenty of room in the front seat. He is at the top of the growth charts for his age.
Once DS2 gets older, he will move to the jump seat. After he outgrows that, he will move to the front and DS1 will move to the sit/stand in back.
It is really each to navigate, folds to store/transport and the price is right. I haven't seen any one else with one, and get positive comments all the time.
