I'm also suffering long weekend/vacation hangover.
Thursday we flew in from Punta Cana. That was a disaster, but we made all of our flights and made it in so I'll take it. We ended up having to circle Logan for about a half hour at 11pm or so due to the storms.
Friday we slept in late after getting home at about 2am. We lounged around the house, unpacked, did several loads of laundry, and grocery shopped.
Saturday I got up early and did a run, I was trying to meet up with a local group that usually runs Saturday mornings but I didn't see them, so I went off on my own. I passed our favorite breakfast place, and the owner came to the window to see how I was doing, so DH and I went back for breakfast, somehow we hadn't been in almost 2 months! We used to go almost every weeekend. Also I <3 my town for days like this it was like we hadn't seen our best friends and we hung out and caught up with them. Then we did some errands and sat poolside the rest of the day.
Sunday morning we got up early and I went for a run around Lake Q while DH walked Chase. Then we stopped at Gingerbread Construction Co for delicious muffins and coffee. We sat outside most of the rest of the day before going to my dad's for dinner.
It was a great relaxing weekend and I am sad it had to come to an end. Clearly my vacation wasn't relaxing enough, I crashed last night at 8:30pm and had to force myself out of bed at 7am today.
I was sick for the first half of the weekend, but still had a nice time. I spent most of it at the Cape, which was so enjoyable, especially when the weather improved.
I had to write a letter to an editor of a journal for a class and I just received an email saying the editor-and-chief of the journal wants to publish it. Neat!

Good weekend. We drove to Ogunquit on Thursday and stayed 2 nights. On the way there we drove through the most horrific storm I've ever witnessed in my 30 years on this planet. There were tornado warnings in Portmouth NH, and I got to drive through it. I am absolutely obsessed with bad weather, so aside from me being scared my car would be damaged from the hail, it was amazing to see. My BFF got married in Bangor on Saturday, so Saturday morning we headed up there for the wedding.
I was a bit hung over on Sunday morning, so I stayed in bed longer than I wanted to. We ended up hitting a good amount of traffic coming home yesterday. I think I went to bed at 9 last night, slept until 7:30, and I am still exhausted.
We had a really good weekend. Friday morning we drove up to NH and bummed around. We tried to break into a house we have our eye on in Harrisville, but no luck, LOL.
Saturday we slept in (even DD, woot!), then bummed around Keene most of the day before a brief stop in Peterborough on our way home. We went to a friend's house Saturday night for a pre-fireworks party, then gathered with the rest of my town to see the fireworks. Our friend lives 2 doors down from the HS where they did the display, so we all headed back to her place after it was over and had dessert while traffic cleared. DD was obsessed with their older daughter's bike, so they said we could use it for the summer. DD was beside herself.
Sunday was housework, catching up on sleep, and watching DD ride her bike every chance she got. This morning was a disaster trying to get back into the routine. It took forever to get out of the house.

Friday cleaned. Saturday hung around with the kids and ran errands. Sunday was H's 40th bday party. And this morning we left for the berkshires. We leave tomorrow evening, but H has off until Friday. He was taking thursday off for our anniversary anyway so threw in Wednesday as well. So nice long week off for us!

Happy birthday to D! Hope you guys had fun celebrating. Yay for an extra long week off!
And happy early anniversary to you guys! What are you doing to celebrate? How many years?
We're going to Menton. You didn't love it did you? It's our 10th!
Weekend wasn't bad. The 4th was a bust. All 4th of July plans were cancelled, and my DH worked a double. We went to one of the few indoor play places open, but didn't stay long due to behavioral issues.I met up with friends at night for a movie (Tammy) and beer and wings.
Sat we left early for the beach (in Ipswich). It was pretty windy but the kids had fun. DH took the boy's to the IL's seasonal campsite for dinner and I got some downtime.
Sun, DH worked another double. We basically played in the yard all day, and SIL babysat for a little Bit so I could go for a bike ride.
It's been a crazy past week. I was away at a work related conference in DC from last Saturday to Tuesday. Love these types of conferences but they are so exhausting!
Flew home Wednesday morning where H picked me up from the airport and my vacation began. We chipped in on a rented house with my family down on the Cape and we stayed there from Wed-Sunday. So much fun though the rain sort of messed our plans up a bit. I did make it to the beach twice though so that was good. Of course made a trip to PTown which is never dull though it was my fist time experiencing the place at night. lol It's a whole other scene when the sun goes down. I did get to see Joan Rivers briefly which was cool. She was doing a couple of shows down there and as she was walking out of the venue she walked right by us surrounded by her entourage and headed into a local bar. She is so short in person! But looks just like she does on tv.
I had Monday off but ended up spending about 11 hours at the Beverly hospital with my sister. She was getting knee surgery and her H was dumb and forgot to take the time off. Surgery went well and she was in recovery by 11am but recovery itself was not so good. I guess they got behind on her pain management and it took forever to get it under control. She wasn't discharged until a little after 6pm and by the time I got her home and set up in bed and back home myself it was about 8pm. I figure I'm just banking up all those favors from babysitting my niece to these little hospital trips to be cashed in when I need it. :-)
