Most would be hard to photograph solo...
I have a dragon on my shoulder, a garden fairy on my lower back (I actually want to get a couple more in the same style near her), a sword on my thigh, and music notes on my calf (which I also want to expand).
I have plans for a dreamcatcher in the near future.
I posted this in the flower thread last week, but I love it so here it is again! The pic is kind of bad because I took it myself and the angle was weird.
Mine are not fancy at all and I actually do not like the arrow one. I think that artist did a pretty crappy job and it was double the cost of the anchor. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted
I can't get a picture of mine. It's the Eye of Horus on my low back, where my spine and pelvis meet. It's all black except for the "pupil" which is green.
I will since I started the thread. In order as they are posted.
1. This was my first tattoo (doesn't look exactly like this anymore had some vines and more shading added to it, since the one who did it originally didn't listen to me) and it took me a long time to decide what I wanted and on 3/7/09 I got my answer. I was in a nasty car accident, my car was totaled and most people who have seen the pictures of my car can't believe I walked away with only two scratches. The firewall as pushed back against my pedal and the engine was turned sideways and my seat was also broken. Looking at my car after I walked away from it I realized that I had gotten very lucky and that my guardian angels were looking out for me that night. The funny thing with this tattoo, the night after my grandfather's funeral it BURNED! It was as if someone set fire to it. I believe that my grandfather used my tattoo to let me know he was ok and that he was taking his place among my guardian angels.
2. My favorite college basketball team is the Duke Blue Devils and the numbers are their championship years.
3. It was just a cool design that I saw and fell in love with. I saw it in October and had to wait until February to get it done since the artist wasn't local. I was scared walking in for that one, since I hadn't seen the design for several months I was terrified that I wasn't going to like it as much as I had remembered.
4. It is a replica of Cinderella's Castle. I have been to Disney 5 times, 1 Disney cruise with a second Disney cruise booked for December. I Love Disney, it is one of my favorite places. I figured for the amount of time and money I have spent there, I should have a Disney tattoo of some kind. I got the idea for this design based on the design on a sweatshirt I got while H and I were there for our honeymoon.
Yep, mine is a tramp stamp. I originally got one when I was 20 and it was of a small sea turtle - not the best tat in the world and tramp stamps were cool then. I got tired of the sea turtle and covered it up with this. Go big or go home!

I really like it! I can't find the sea turtle at all, so it was done really well!
turtle1120, I wouldn't consider that a tramp stamp. My hair stylist and I have had this conversation, we both feel that once the tattoo is a certain size, it is no longer a tramp stamp.

Ooh really? Because I sort of want one across my lower back, but you know, tramp stamp. So I just need to make it big enough? NICE. I also want one going up my side but ouch.

Thanks! They did do a really good job. The turtle is in the flower and the dark shading covered it well. You can't even see it if you're looking at it up-close.

Dragon: I was 17 and fucking love dragons. What can I say? His name is Hagrid. It's poorly colored and should be reshaded.
Music notes: I love music. I played the flute.
Fairy: So I never let go of my vast imagination. It's one of the things that helped me survive my childhood.
Sword: For courage. I was really struggling at the time. It was when my father's mental illness started to go from "general quirky" to full blow psychosis. I was in school and working full time. This was to remind me to "battle through it" because my struggle was temporary. Finish. Graduate. Don't give up. This one is poorly done. I'd love to get it redone.
The (future) dreamcatcher symbolizes my grandmother. She passed in 2007 and that's how long I've been thinking about getting this tattoo. She was proud of her (alleged) Native American heritage. It reminds me of her.

According to us, yes. LOL
I do not have any issues with a tramp stamp in general. Had I made up my mind when I first thought about getting a tattoo, I would have had a tramp stamp. I still want a tattoo on my lower back. Of course what I want isn't going to be little. There is a picture that I took of the Golden Gate Bridge that I just love, and I want that tattooed on my lower back.
doriswe - I got mine when I studied abroad in Australia. I knew I always wanted a tat and that seemed perfect (a constellation in the southern hemisphere and on the Australian flag) for me while I was in Australia to remember my trip, experience and growth there.

I have two right now and another in the works. I'll post pictures a little later when I can. But...
I have 2 geckos on my right shoulder. When I lived in Houston there was a family of geckos that lived in the back yard and every morning there was one on my window, just hanging out. The geckos are a combination of my sister's an my favorite colors. One is purple (her favorite color) with green spots, and the other is the opposite.
I also have a butterfly on my ankle with my family logo next to it. When my aunt died a few years ago, all but one of my siblings and myself went in and got tattoos together with our family logo in her memory.
For my next one I'm getting a phoenix. I've wanted one since I was 15, but sat on the idea because I didn't want to get tired of it... 20 years later, I still want it, so I have a local artist drawing it up for me as we speak. As soon as my lawyer is paid off I'm celebrating by getting it.

For a limited time, here is my family tattoo. We each got a different variation but all with our family logo stuck in there somewhere. One brother got a dragon, the other got just the logo, and my sister got a fairy. I am having a helluva time getting my gecko's picture off my phone, so this is apparently all you get today.
*poof* Also, I really need to be better about moisturizing my legs...
I have two, one on each hip. They are small. One is a jesus fish with a music note inside of it (from when I was still uber-religious. I'll probably change it at some point)
The other is a treble and bass clef, with one of them inverted so they make a heart.
I want to get a hummingbird, maybe on my shoulder. They were my grandmother's favorite thing.
