Girl! DH and I are over the moon. Now I need to get into nursery mode! I guess it's good we're having a girl because I never did come up with a boy nursery color scheme haha. Here is my current inspiration board for the room:
The walls are a lighter sage color than the picture because the room doesn't currently have very good lighting. This weekend I'm going to go order the glider recliner. That and the rug are our two big purchases for the room (rug post to come...). I'd like all of the furniture and rug to work in both of our spare bedrooms (light sage and a pale aqua/gray). The glider I'd also like to be gender neutral so we can use it for kid #2. I'd like a patterned fabric and I'm leaning toward the yellow because the green and blue colors are too similar to the wall colors and probably won't match. Here are some of the fabric options I'm looking at:
1) Yellow Links
2) Green Links
3) Blue Links
4) Brown Links
5) Citron Peaks
6) Off White & Brown Circles
7) Blue Circles
Which do you like the best?
Also I'm planning to get the chair really similar to these pictures...it has straight arms but the customization tool doesn't seem to be working for that model.
Experienced moms do you think that one would be more comfortable than the other for breastfeeding? The rounded arms are only 1" wider but they are probably harder to balance things on. I'm not sure it's a big deal. I prefer the look of the cleaner look of the straight arms.
ETA for fun here's a picture of the baby bump as well. We got pink ice cream after finding out the gender.
Cute! I actually prefer the dark brown chair. The rest either blend in with the wall too much for my taste and the yellow I actually think clashes..could be my monitor. I feel like in those cases it's better to just go all out contrast and not worry about it.
I would also get the widest arms you can. You will notice. I balanced everything from travel mugs to the ipad to books to the phone to burp rags off the arms of our chairs while feeding the kids.
I love that print. Is it something you already have or you're shopping for?
I would go with a lighter color fabric if you're BFing. No matter how careful you are, you will end up with drips (or if your baby is particularly uncooperative, a huge spray) of milk on the upholstery.
ETA: You are so adorable! Love the bump!
It's a brand new purchase. It's from Best Chairs Storytime series (www.besthf.com/best/Storytime/Recliners/items/BLAIN) so I'm limited to their fabric options. They have a ton of solid color choices but I really wanted a print for both the look and hoping it would hide stains better. I've sat in as many gliders I can and I love the tall back and wide seat on this one. It was also really comfortable and a decent price from Buy Buy Baby with their 20% off coupon. I read online that the rounded arm one has a slightly skinner seat but I'm hoping to try it in person this weekend (the overall width is 2" different but the arms may be wider than that). I've only sat in the straight arm one. I'm going to try it with a My Breast Friend as well to see how it fits.
I've heard the same thing about lighter colored fabric but I've never done this before so what do I know. Also thanks you're so sweet.

Good advice thanks! I'm going to check out the rounded arm style this weekend so I can compare. I might go sit in the straight arm one one more time at Babies R Us before I make the 2.5 hr drive to Buy Buy Baby. Finding gliders in our area is hard!
TBH, I don't really like any of those fabrics. I'd rather have something neutral and less of a pattern, and put a patterned blanket or pillow on it if you need or want more color. What about the charcoal? It's got pattern to it still to help conceal stains, but it's neutral enough to not compete with the other stuff you've got going on.
I'd go for the square arm for sure, so resting stuff on it is easier. The rounded arms on my recliner annoy me.
I love the rest of the stuff you've got going on in the room!
Lol, sorry. I meant the floral print for the wall in my first comment.
Oh haha I thought you meant the print of the fabric. I don't have any art for the room yet. I found this on Pinterest and loved it.
It looks like it's from this ladies website: lindavirio.com/watercolour-2/ I'll have to contact her to see how much is costs. It's a nice size (11x14).
I'm not sure where I want to go with art. I love watercolors and since it's a girl flowers are one my favorite subjects. I figure if I get things I love I can relocate them to a different room when she gets older. Those colors would work well in a number of other rooms in the house. I'd also like to hang up a few sepia toned pictures of my grandparents & maybe parents when they were young especially my grandmother who passed away.

You look great! (I've always been jealous of women who look good pregnant)
Are they the same other than the arm rest? Which chair is better to fall asleep in? Because that happened with me almost every night. Lack of sleep and nursing made me SO tired and I kept waking up with a stiff neck after I dozed off.
I like the yellow (and it would hide stains) for a baby's room, but I think it would be hard to transition later on if that's your plan.
I used a nursing pillow with both kids, so for me, the wider the chair and arms, the better. Once the kid got a little bigger, I would rest the pillow on an armrest or hook a knee over that armrest to support 20lbs of baby. You're going to do all kinds of weird things in that chair so try them all out with a boppy or similar before deciding.
And yes - there will be dribbles and occasional sprays. Look for something that will hide milky spray if you can.
I like citron peaks the best and the yellow as my second choice. I just like those colors, but the stain hiding factor is a big bonus. Milk and it's byproducts really does get everywhere eventually.

Congratulations on your little girl! That's so exiting! And you look great!
Out of the options listed, and what you've said, I like the yellow links best. If I was buying for myself, I would do what AmyRI said, and get a neutral chair, and bring patterns in with blankets and a nursing pillow. Whatever you get, make sure to Scotch guard it.
I like the green links chair. When we were having DD we invested in an expensive glider and ottoman and went with a green and white stripe. I loved it in her room and now in DS's room. We have rounded arms and they aren't an issue for breast feeding. Congrats!!!
Not a parent but I vote #4 because babies are messy and light fabrics around them sounds risky.
What paint color is that? My house has similar trim color and the same white doors and I've been feeling stuck but really like yours. If you don't mind linking to a bio so I can see your other colors I would be ever so grateful (or PM).

You're so cute - congrats your little girl!
I would go with the green links so you don't have too many competing colors in the room (i.e., yellow). But the yellow might look bright and nice - in which case I would pull out that color with some accessories. I think you're wise to go w/a pattern just in case of stains. I have skinny arms on my glider but it doesn't matter - I just prop a blanket underneath to add support while BFing. NBD.
