DS1 has two Britax seats, and our plan was to pass them down to kid#2 and buy Graco Nautilus seats for the older one as long as DS1 needs a seat. Then our kids ended up being 4 years apart, whoops. And, my youngest is only 4 lbs away from the weight limit on his infant seat at 3 months old and there are great deals out now on convertibles, so it's on my mind.
Anyway, now I'm realizing that the Britax seats will theoretically expire in the next 18 months and won't last DS2's "lifespan" in a 5-pt harness. So now I'm thinking we should just buy new convertibles for DS2, wait until DS1's seats expire and put him in the appropriate booster at the time (he will be between 5-6 by then).

The only thing I had to add is that I hate our graco nautilus. It was supposed to be DS's seat in my car after he outgrew his convertible. He cried that it hurt his crotch (the buckle sits too far back into the seat, I don't know how I missed this in other negative reviews) and tries to climb back in the convertible that we moved DD too.
