So exciting! I remember how stressful it was to take that first plunge.
For prenatals, I take vitafusion gummy ones. They're not the most complete, but I'm more likely to remember to take gummy vitamins since they taste better. I "forgot" for multiple days in a row when I had the standard horse pill kind, plus they made me gag during first trimester. I've also heard good things about the Up&Up (Target) gummies. We don't do regular vitamins at our house -- it's gummy or nothing. At least we eat a lot of fruits and veggies?
For cheap pee sticks, ashleyp728 kindly sent me a bunch of wondfos that were nearing their expiration date. You can get them on Amazon and I think they're the cheapest pregnancy tests out there. I used those until I got a plus then bought a "FRER" to confirm. I trust the red dye tests much more than the blue dye tests. Apparently some dollar stores carry the red dye pregnancy tests and they work just as well as the one I had to pay $13 for at Riteaid.
You may or may not want to read Taking Charge of Your Fertility if you haven't already. It will teach you all about your cycle including how to avoid getting pregnant and how to best time getting KU. Either in addition or instead, some people use ovulation predictor kits (OPKs, basically a different sort of pee stick that you use daily or 2x/day to see when you're ovulating and might get pregnant). Wondfo makes these as well.
I take the same gummy pre natals that Shevaa recommended. I bought the really expensive whole food pre natals with #1 but I basically stopped taking them after 6 weeks because my gag reflex was so strong and the pills are enormous. Luckily I ate a super healthy diet of almost exclusively oranges, avocados, cooked swiss chard, eggs and red meat. Lol. I didn't know about the gummies until way late. I take them know even though I'm not having a baby any time soon. It's all good stuff anyway.
But yea, just be aware that those big pills are hard to take when you already have a sensitive gag reflex.
Fertilityfriend.com was great because I o early and it probably would've been harder for us to get ktfu if I had thought I did at a normal time. I also read taking charge of your fertility but I think the most important part was just knowing how to chart. I currently have Trader Joes prenatals. While I was ktfu I used gummies at first thanks to morning sickness and then target ones. I had to take them at night so as not to upset my tummy. I didn't take them from 8 weeks- 20 weeks because I was just too barfy.
I might have a frer or two around I can send you.... 7costanza sent me wondfos which work fine and then I got frers once I thought I had a positive wondfo.
I take costco prenatals. They are almost complete--for me specifically they miss the mark for vitamin d, but are enough for most people. The costco ones (naturemade brand) are the so-called "horse-pill" though..since tey are big, but I have no probs with them. I take it before bed every night.
I would just start with the cheap pee sticks..I bought a batch of 50 for about 6 bucks. Whatever you don't end up using can be passed on. They are highly accurate, but after you get a positive, it's fun to get the $10 digital ones in the store--that's when it really sinks in. But you deft don't need to use te expensive ones regularly.
