I've been a lurker on these boards for some time now, but rarely a poster. I haven't been on in a while and was so excited to see the recovery board. I've struggled with alcohol for a long time and just celebrated one year sober. I've been active in AA for over 2 years with a 24 relapse after 13 months. I hated that I had to change my sobriety date, but this last year has been better than I could imagine. I've been through the 12 steps, I attend meetings usually 4-5 times a week, I have a sponsor, I have a sponsee, and can honestly say that AA saved my life. I take my anonymity very seriously, but will break it if I know of someone who is struggling and think that I can help.
I am married (to a normal drinker), no kids, and the friends I made in AA is something I never thought I would have. My husband is very supportive of my program, but I do struggle with balancing my home life and my AA life.
That's about it for an intro, I'm sure I'll be posting more in other threads.

Congratulations on your one year! That is awesome. You've pretty much stated exactly how I feel about AA. Saved my life. I'm not always happy and joyous, but I am free! Glad you have a sponsee too! That is huge.
