it depends. am i running around in the small-floral-on-black print of my middle school years? hell no. and i don't care how trendy mock turtleneck velvet tees ever become again, that ship has sailed.
but certain things i could see myself embracing again, obviously in a more grown-up way than before.

Oh come on, how could you not want to adultify that crushed velvet:
FTR I saw crushed velvet tops in F21 this past weekend and had to laugh. No way.
Ahhhh crushed velvet... my teenaged self thought it was the most beautiful thing ever.
Also- that pic above made me think of this... but side-boob seems to be a "thing" now, no? I can't ever imagine being ok with sideboob in public. It just seems... so, exposed. Maybe I'm a prude lol
It depends. DM, hell yeah but then again I never stopped wearing them. Overalls, um no. I am so sad that I wasted my 18-23 year old body wearing them. Now, they would hide everything I hate! LOL Crushed velvet, no. I had the love child, velvet overalls!

I never rocked Docs the first time around, but I love my current collection. They're perfect for concerts where you are on your feet the whole time. I actually wore my Docs and a baby doll dress to my 20th class reunion. I got a lot of compliments and had a blast.
I've learned to never say never with fashion. There's some horrible stuff I'd shy away from, but I'm typically an early adopter of trends. I'm also in a very creative field that allows me to really have fun with my looks.
kris356 I rocked a lot of overalls in college too. They were the best for class and easy outfits. I had the engineer striped ones from Gap that I lived in.

I had those ones too! Well, I think I may still have them. Vintage.
My 21st class reunion (don't ask) is next week, and if I wore a baby doll dress and docs it would be flash back because that is what I wore in high school.

I may still have mine too. I saved a few favorite things that I loved. Those were definitely up there.
I did baby doll dresses in HS, but no Docs. My class president is so driven that he gets carried away with planning these. We had a welcome party at a bar owned by an Alum that was a lifter when I cheered, a school tour (with no AC), a family picnic, a skybox at a minor league baseball game with all you can eat prime rib and an open bar complete with DJ, and an after party at another bar. We only had to pay for the game. The after party was all kinds of crazy with several people buying rounds of shots. There was a 4 page PDF of instructions and maps. Have fun at your's!
I wore one to prom. It got lost. They remind me of BDSM collars now.
My 11th grade prom dress....black crushed velvet full length dress that had a choker including big tear-drop pearl. True story.
The one I did with the velvet choker was all silver sequins, very fitted, and short. It looked a lot like the En Vogue dresses in the Never Gonna Get It video. I went stag, but had I not my Dad was not letting me out of the house in that dress. He didn't see it until I was leaving. Lol!

Yes, if I wore that to mine it would be a flash back as well!!!

I HAD VELVET OVERALLS TOO!
I loved those things...I know there's a pic somewhere with me and my BFF at the time wearing our matching velvet overalls and a striped top. If I ever find it, I'll be sure to post it here, haha.
As to the OP, sure. I'm sure I've done it to some degree. It all depends if I like it enough and feel like I can pull it off.
Yes, but I am old enough that I don't have much choice. Otherwise, there wouldn't be enough options. Leggings would be an example. And I think overalls are on about their third time around for me. I wouldn't wear overalls though. First time around was enough.
I never thought I'd see the day where leggings were back. I do wear them now...but not how I rocked them as a kid---ya know, with neon scrunched up puffy socks and a long tshirt with a rhinestone tshirt clip. The late 80's early 90's was interesting!
You couldn't convince me to wear crushed velvet again, or a choker. Lol
