I used Vaseline on Ms cradle cap. I would put it on and let it sit for a couple minutes while bathing her then take and and gently comb through her hair to remove it. It only took a couple times for it to go away. It came back a tiny bit after that but nothing bad.
I was gone for about 2 hours for a GTG last night and SO said K screamed the whole time I was gone. This isn't like her at all, sometimes she fights sleep but can be quieted by walking her around. He said he tried everything and finally just put her in her crib for awhile and watched her on the monitor. I feel bad because he was excited about having time with her and giving me a break and it turned out so badly. I put her on the boob as soon as I got home and she ate without falling asleep which never happens, then was pretty much okay from there. I hope it wasn't because I was gone, I don't want to not be able to leave her for a few hours sometimes.

We are driving to Asheville NC to meet my in-laws for vacation. Both kids are sick and grumpy. Bob the Bear(M's stuffed panda) is being naughty and M keeps yelling at him. We did more than half of the drive last night while they were asleep.
Waiting on the a/c guy to get here. Our window is 10-12. I didn't manage to get a shower in (because I was just being lazy, my own fault) so I feel gross (note: showered yesterday at 5 before dinner). Ready to have downstairs a/c after almost a week of it not working. In Houston. In the summer.
I'm so upset. We just had the girls 4 MO appt. E pooped while we were there so we tested her stool. Positive for blood again!! They are both still gaining weight super slowly. I have already eliminated soy, soy oils, eggs, dairy, and nuts. I now have to eliminate wheat and fish too. The earliest appointment I could get with the pediatric allergist was September 23rd.
How am I ever going to eat enough calories to sustain nursing them when I am so restricted?! It was hard enough without eliminating wheat too. I just want to cry. This sucks so bad. I'm hungry all the time!!

So ready for the weekend! Today my awesome mil is at our house watching dd because daycare is closed. I'm really annoyed with my sil because she tried to bring her kid over to be babysat also. Nevermind mil very rarely watches dd and watches her kid all the damn time because they use drop in dc and don't like to pay. DH shut it down thankfully. We have plans together on Monday and now I don't want to deal with her lol.

That sucks. I'm really sorry. Any chance your pedi can get you an earlier appt? That seems too long to wait at this age. My DD had GI issues at that age and our pedi marked the referral as urgent in red and we were able to get an appt at Texas Children's in the med center (huge, specialty hospital) in under a week. You could also ask to be put on the cancellation list.

Yeah, good idea. That appointment is with my son's pediatric allergist but I am actually looking up other providers through the children's hospital Boston network right now to see if I can get an earlier appointment with one of them. If not, I will call their pedi and see if she can push for an earlier appointment.

I want to go to the Y but DS has had a wet cough for the past few days; I don't want to get any other kids sick in case he's contagious. Walk with the jogging stroller it is!
I'm having such a fun time planning out our local overnight "baby moon" for September. DH doesn't seem to care too much what we do so I get to make all the choices. Way more fun this way, it's exhausting when he has all kinds of opinions.
My wife put coconut oil on Squeaky's head to try to take off skin from cradle cap...and somehow some of her adorable wispy baby hair came out. I'm so sad about this, but I can't even express it because my wife feels sssooo guilty and she didn't do anything wrong. But damn.
I think we're doing 4 month wakeful...though it's hard to tell because we're also doing Squishy sleeping with one arm out of her swaddle. But I nursed last night at 12:30 (Squishy) , 3:30 (Squishy), 5:00 (Squeaky), and 7:00 (Squishy).
That's a rough night... - don't sweat the hair coming out. I think it's inevitable when dealing w/cradle cap. Tougher hair will take its place
But it won't be the adorable baby wispies! I know, it's life. Thanks though.
I'm buying a swing today I think. And some brownies.
DS is going to be tall and thin -he's almost out of the newborn size because of length, but nowhere near outgrowing it on width. I'm on the lookout for slim fit clothing now since we won't have a little chunky monkey on our hands.

Oh no, that's awful I'm sorry!! Definitely push for a sooner appointment, that's way too long to go. You must be starving!!
When your kids first got diagnosed with allergies did you observe blood in a diaper, or how did you know to test for it?
I miss @ojo. Her boys turned 2 yesterday (they share a birthday with DD) and I was thinking of her. Did anyone ever get in touch with her? Hope all is well.

Blood in the diaper. J has allergies too so I was hyper vigilant about spotting the issues this time because I knew what to look for, blood in diaper, mucous in stool, spitting up, colic, poor weight gain. We knew by 10 days old they had them.

It's finally stopped raining and is pleasantly not humid. We've got all the windows open in the house and, despite 80 degrees on the thermometer it actually feels cool out with the breeze. Ds was elated to finally go outdoors and play for the first time since Monday.

I am upset for you. You are so resilient and persistent in the face of many obstacles. Your kids are fortunate to have a mama with such wonderful traits--but damn, the cards just aren't making it easy for you, are they? ((hugs))

I just bought a watermelon at trader joes to take to a playdate later this afternoon. Cut into it just now and it's rancid on the inside. Gross and UGH
B never cries in the morning anymore. He just opens his shutter and stares out the window for who knows how long. #best baby #montessori bed win
Our kids are kindred spirits; I look forward to seeing how #2 treats you, since my biggest fear is #2 being high maintenance after DD being "magic baby". I really hope that's not necessarily the case, and it is possible (for you and me both!) to have 2 magic babies.

I worry about that all the time. Fingers crossed for four magic babies!
I caught DDs cold (that the cousins gave us last week)so I am staying home this weekend instead of going to OK City to visit my friend and her twins. I don't want to share the germs.
I went to nordstrom this morning to check out the sale and bought an $85 pair of jeans, yikes. I also got this sweater for DD and it is freaking adorable.
kermit I'm sorry your DD was upset last night It was really good to see you though and catch up and you look awesome for just having a baby last week!!

I just held a sweet 8 week old baby girl at work today. It was nice to basically 100% confirm with myself that I do not want another one. It's so weird to think that I was being wheeled into my C/S 17 months ago right now.
I'm getting a pedicure for the first time in a really, really long time.
It's embarrassing what it takes to coordinate getting one freaking hour to myself lately. And of course DS's cough got worse so I have to take him to the pediatrician this afternoon. It was going to cut into my pedicure and I was ready to cry. So what did I do? Skip grocery shopping & errands and use my baby free time for the pedicure. Obviously I'm a responsible adult :/
