DD has a little cold and is cutting all 4 canine teeth and we have a first birthday party this afternoon. Thankfully it's close so if she has a melt down we can leave and get home quick. I think we'll hang out outside while we are there so no one gets upset that my snot nose kid will get theirs sick.
It's my day to get up with the kiddos and everyone is in a good mood for once. It's nice to enjoy the snuggles rather than playing referee.
My neighbor invited us to her dd's birthday party today. I should take ds1 since it would be good to have a close by friend (they also have a daughter ds2's age) but I don't know if I'll know anyone there. I've only met this neighbor a few times so I'm afraid I won't recognize her without the context of her house!
I taught this morning and I'm feeling so much better today! It's great! DS went down pretty easily for DH while I was at class. What the heck kiddo? He fights me for an hour and he only fought DH for 15 minutes. I'm jealous. I got him a really cute push toy/ ride on car for $5 through the local Facebook swap. Is it bad to give him a used toy for Christmas?

We had to cancel on the housewarming party due to DS's fever. I'm sort of glad it would have been six hours each way with stops, H is 22 months and I'm 25 weeks. I still feel bad.
DH just got off the phone with host; I emailed him a heads up at 4:00 pm yesterday and he never checked his email. Seriously, it was an evite via email check your email. DH said he would call him Monday to talk about plan B.
I said then host could come up here next weekend (he suggested it a while ago, but we declined due to too much travel), but he really wants us to see house. We saw it in January, but apparently it's more of a home to him now. I get it, I do.
But DH had very little holiday time, it's a long trip for a weekend, I'm pregnant. Plus his house is as unbaby friendly as possible. It's beautiful, think Will from Will and Grace.

I'm about to lose my mind. DD3 cried from 7:30 until almost 10 this morning. I freaking tried everything (bottle, rocking/bouncing, paci, changed her diaper twice) and she would.not.stop. I was also up with her for 2 hours in the middle of the night because she was having trouble settling and couldn't fall back to sleep. I'm SO exhausted that I want to cry.
DH is home today but can't help because he and several friends/family members are working on pouring the cement for our new garage. Ugh. Luckily, once the cement is in and dry, we can finally start working on the final phase of our addition. I just want to be done.

We told the kids about the new baby last night, they are so excited! I was a little worried about how DS would handle it since he keeps talking about wanting a little brother (it's a girl), but he was hopping up and down excited about having another sister. He keeps hugging my belly and asking if the baby can feel him hugging her
One of his first questions was "are you going to feed this baby milk from your nipples, too?". I now predict several months of him telling anyone he meets "My mom is going to feed the baby from her nipples!" And he loves to talk to strangers
The kids are playing magnatiles together, I'm going to see if I can sneak in a run on the treadmill while they're busy.
My night included a stomach virus (me), clogged duct (me), 2 hrs full of screaming about molars (dd2) and then "sleeping" while nursing and hanging on to baby for dear life. Today's agenda: nothing.
My child will be returned to me today after a whole week away. This week has taught me that I am amazingly good at being lazy as all heck and eating out a lot. (I think the last time I ate out this much besides on vacation was pre-DD.) I thought I was going to clean out a lot of DD's old toys, etc., but I guess I will do that when she goes off to college...
Oh, and nope, haven't had a new baby yet. Which is great, because it would have been a bummer to have to take care of a newborn during what will probably be my last child-free week for years.
J had his first swim lesson today but I had to miss it beside I have to work I really hope he did ok and didn't scream the whole time. H hasn't texted me to tell me how it went.

There is an awesome vintage maple twin bed with a plane carved into the headboard and a propeller on the footboard on my local CL that I am tempted to buy even though neither kid has a plane or transportation-themed room. I could design a really great room around that bed, though.
It's been pee and poop city at our house this morning, involving multiple outfit changes. Is this a sign that we need to bump up a size in diapers or is this just operator error (cough, my H, cough)?
Had a nice morning at a diner followed by the kids room of the State Museum. Now we are napping. Getting my hair done later. Also want to hit up Old Navy at some point.
mines a vent DS's b-day is coming up and i know he wants the Melissa & Doug giant giraffe! well its $82 on amazon and $99 everywhere else i find it. Kohls.com is my go-to for Melissa & Doug and I have 30% off right now and they don't have it!!!! they have EVERY OTHER GIANT PLUSH but not the giraffe!! SERIOUSLY?
We went to the market and I wore DD in my sling, she was sort of sitting up looking around. Anyways, got home, took her out of the car seat and her left leg looks like this:
Edit: as usual I can't post a pic. It looks bruised??? The only thing I can imagine is that somehow her leg was at an awkward angle in the sling but she never said boo, was happy the whole time.
I did an hour long Pilates class for the first time yesterday and I didn't feel like it was that intense compared to what I usually do. So then I ran two miles. I am so sore today. I was obviously working my abs more than I thought.
Today is the day I set aside to run errands but the baby slept in so he's napping now.. And then DS2 naps in an hour. So I'm pretty sure I'm just going to lay here for a while.
I go back to work tomorrow for a 24 hour shift, and I'm already having anxiety about pumping. How much to leave fresh? How much to freeze? I also feel kinda guilty about being a little excited to go back. I'm not looking forward to leaving my baby, but I miss my coworkers!
We went out to lunch today, and I handed my to-go box to DH to grab, since I had the baby, and he forgot it. Grrrr.

The whites of DS's eyes have turned yellow. His bilirubin was normal when we left the hospital. My milk came in yesterday and he's started having a good amount of wet and dirty diapers, so hopefully he can get rid of the jaundice quickly.

DH left 2 hours ago for a work trip. DS and I went mall walking then he played at the play area. When we got home my garage door opener wouldn't work and I didn't have any other keys to the house. So we had to meet up with my mom to get a spare key. We decided to meet at Costco and since my child was starving at this point I bought him a hotdog. I think he liked it. I'm sure I was judged by many for his lunch today. Screw the haters!
I went camping last night on a ladies camp out. I'm really glad I went- it prevented me from wallowing about probably not getting the job I interviewed for last week .
I came home about noon and showered. We groomed and bathed the dog, and now I'm going to try to squeeze in a nap before dd wakes up. Bbq'd pizzas for dinner, no sure what for tomorrow.
My mom gave me a hard time for wanting to order pink stationery because some of it might be used for baby thank-you notes, and it's a boy. (I had 100 cards that I've used for thank-you notes for both of my showers, but I'm down to 19 remaining and I figure we'll get some gifts when the baby comes. But they're just cards with my initials on them that will be used for all purposes.)
I got really annoyed and asked her if I needed to clear all the pink out of my wardrobe, too. :-#

wait people judge hot dogs? I thought they were like standard kid food. I don't like them unless they are grilled (in general, maybe I'll try one at Costco next time), so I don't serve them to J, but I would be surprised if there was much judgement of an occasional hot dog. I lived on them as a kid, lol. They used to have baby food that was like mini hot dogs in a baby food jar. Does that still exist?
Yes! Vienna sausages! My mom fed them to me all the time!

Took DS to the park so DH could clean the house for our dinner party tonight. Why do I feel like I got the best side of that deal?
DS and I had a lot of fun; he's much more interested in exploring nature and playing in dirt right now than in playgrounds, which is more fun for me as well. I need to look up some easy local hikes I can take him on. Man, having a slightly older kid is so much fun! Why am I starting over with another boring baby again?! (Kidding. Mostly.)

We have several pink baby toys, a pink wipes dispenser, and if they made them with bows, I would put DS in a pink polo to match DH. No one has said anything. It annoys me for you. My thought with the wipes container is that it's an item for me and I liked the pink best.
