Going to see Batman packing heat in case of repeats.
He has a few people asking him if it's legal to bring a gun in a theater and he said he has a concealed weapons permit so he can take his gun anywhere. This is in Florida, btw. I know nothing about concealed weapons permits. They allow you to take a gun any place you want?

Totally dependent on state laws, but generally you can take them anywhere except where specifically prohibited, like bars or schools. I'm pretty sure that actually is legal in Florida.

This.
Guns are prohibited on the campus I work at, so even if I had a permit to carry, I still would not be allowed to carry it on campus.
This guy is sadly, someone I can see killing another person or himself. He's one that was bragging had HE been in that theater in Colorado, that gunman would have been dead, he would have saved the day, etc. He's a total ass. I know that there are people who love their guns but they have to admit that the numbers don't fall in their behalf. The more people walk around carrying guns, surprise, surprise, the more likely you are to get shot. He seems to think that if everyone carried guns, there would be less crime.
I don't know why people like him don't just join the military or something. But anyway, I didn't realize that a permit would allow you to carry a gun in a public place like a movie theater. I guess I never thought about how many times I'm in a place and how many people around me could be packing heat. Shit. That's all I'll be thinking about now.
I didn't think of that yeah they maybe wouldn't want this guy. He's gun obsessed. He owns multiples of every single gun that one can legally buy and possibly illegally buy. If you look at his FB wall it's all pictures of different types of guns. He used to work in a gun shop too. He's one of DH's friends from childhood who he hasn't spoken to outside of FB in like 15 years.
He's exactly the person you DON'T want next to you packing in a theater. I can see him jumping up and shooting 10 innocent people in the crossfire before he gets to the actual shooter. Make my movie theater gun free please.

In Minnesota, you would be able to unless the theater bans them. I know the one by my house does ban them. Because of our conceal/carry law, businesses that want to ban then have to specifically put a sign by the door saying you can't bring your gun in. IME, most private businesses do have these signs.
i"ve even seen these signs at churches. it's a little ridiculous.

One of the disturbing things about the Wa concealed carry law is that firearms aren't allowed in bars... So every single bar in the state has this big sign that says †NO FIREARMS.â€... just what you want to see going out for cocktails.
Do you think he's going specifically because he hopes there will be trouble?
Yes, I really do. Even my husband agrees that if there is a person who would love to get in a shoot out and kill someone it's this guy. Of course then he could claim and that he and his gun saved lives.
