I can imagine it's an adjustment. DH and I are both basically off during the summer and I go through a period of wanting to fling him out the window during the first couple of weeks LOL.
this is every week with h and I. Lol. He works 4 days and we don't see each other and then is off four. We usually want to kill each other the first day and a half.
Lol, same. He's gone for 14 days (sometimes 20), and he's home for 7. The first 2-3 days are the suck.
That is really pretty! It would need so much work but I hope someone buys it to restore instead of tear down. It always makes me sad when older homes are destroyed to make room for ugly mcmansions.
It's so sad, but at 2+ million, it would take so much more to restore it. It's not a good investment, which is likely why it's sitting there.
It is on a massive plot , several acres. It just listed last week, I think it will see quickly. Large land parcels like that are quite rare in the city.
Oh man, I'm so sorry fingers crossed he finds something soon!
Sorry about your H's job. My DH lost his job in 2008, then did some interim work to keep us afloat and then landed his dream job, where he still is (and likely will be until he dies lol). The lay off turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise.
Sorry about your H's job. I know you guys are DR followers so I am sure everything will be fine! Will he be taking some time off or looking for something new right away?

This isn't the first time we have been through this and being a DR follower definitely makes things easier. We need to try to get out of the condo lease, so that is a stress. He is looking for something new and he wants to stay in Houston, being away was much harder on him than it was on me. We are going to Hawaii in a couple weeks, so that will be a nice distraction.
We are DR followers as well (although we just took on a very small car loan with no interest- THE HORROR! it'll be paid off in a year) and have gone through two different job losses (me once and H once). Having no debt and an emergency fund helps me sleep at night.
Good luck with the search for something local and enjoy Hawaii!
