My house is a mess. DH didn't clean a single thing, not even pick up after himself or N while I was gone.
Thankfully, I am working from home today and have a super light work load.
Travelling is rough. I am exhausted from my drive yesterday!
This is what I worry about more then leaving M. What H thinks is clean does not come close to meeting my standards and multi - tasking is a foreign concept to him. The rule has been that we schedule the maids to come the day before I get home because coming home to a dirty house makes me lose my mind.
Total first world bratty problems but H and are torn between going to Europe (either London or Paris) or St. Croix for our trip this fall without M. Part of me just wants to roam around the city, take in all the neighborhoods, have long leisurely lunches etc and the other just wants to sit my ass down on a chair on the beach and not move for 8 hours. We most likely will have lots of opportunities to go to beach resorts with M ( going to Mexico next year) so should do Europe but ughhhh so torn. I have spent way to much time thinking about it.
The gym was closed due to a power outage so I took DS for a run, then managed to transfer him to his crib and he's still sleeping. I'm having a snack and am going to paint my nails!

A US Cellular rep just told me she can save us $30/mo on our phones by giving us a discount...but that other reps probably wouldn't offer us the same discount. Sounds tempting but very shady.

I just realized I had 3 Target giftcards in my wallet totalling $88. I forgot that I had one for $63 after returning a bunch of baby stuff I didn't need.
JACKPOT!!!! DD just got a new activity center and it only cost me $3.80. HOOOOOOORAAAYYYYY!!!!
We are leaving for vacation at noon! I am so excited. But kinda nervous for the drive - it will be 5 around 5 hours today and then 2 more hours on Sunday. Hoping DD will take a good nap in the car and then we will stop somewhere to let her run around a bit. Fingers crossed for little traffic. We are staying at hotel on the way there until Sunday and then we will check in to the rental house. I packed wine and milk boxes for the hotel
We just went out to the garden to check on the veggies one last time before we leave. I picked about 10 green beans and DD is currently snacking on them. We have so many grape tomatoes but none are ripe. I'm sure they will all turn as soon as we leave, so I told my neighbors to help themselves if they see anything red in there.
This dress ends up being $10.20 after the sales today. But I don't have anything else to add to my cart to get to free shipping ($50). I need a dress for a bachelorette party in August...I can't decide if shipping will be worth it......argh. such decisions this morning.
And the bach party is supposed to be nautical themed. I have held off buying anything nautical because there was nautical EVERYWHERE. Now that I'm looking, I can't find anything! WTH. I just want an anchor necklace or something.

Nods was up from 10:30 - 1 am Last night. She wasn't fish it crying, she just wouldn't sleep. Luckily my mom already had plans to take her for the day. Had she stayed here, we might have tossed her out in the yard. She is not being bad, just demanding constant attention.
It's so quiet and peaceful with her gone. I'm going to shower and organize baby clothes.
DS has pooped in the potty three times this week, but still no pee. Anyone else have a poop-trained kid before pee? Seems like it is usually the other way around.

We are home, and there was no milk this morning, so I had to get both kids ready, and bike to the store before coffee. I then managed to leave my credit card in Dunkin Donuts, and grocery shop without it. The very sweet and amazing manager at the grocery store walked to Dunkin's for me so I wouldn't have to drag the kids over there (it is about a block away).
My friend's oldest son is away this week, the youngest is still in daycare, but the middlest only has camp until noon and doesn't like to stay home by himself. Today he is coming here. When I told my kids they danced in excitement. I am happy, because I can send them all into the gated back yard for a bit, while I clean from my trip.

A was poop trained a good 6 months before she was consistently pee trained.
Here is my Friday vent. My parents recently held a big party to meet DD. I just finished opening all the gifts and she now has a vast collection of poofy dresses for the next 5 years. Her other grandparents are holding one of these parties next weekend so I can only expect that the collection of poofy dresses is going to double. People also gave all sorts of play clothes so we can use that.
But without gift receipts for the majority of the clothes gifts, I am stuck with all these clothes for DD. I don't get to really shop for her and dress her in what I want. FWP I know.
sent totally understandable! As much as I appreciated the gesture, H's family went nuts buying clothes and we got a ton of frilly dresses that I wouldn't normally put her in. They also took it upon themselves to buy her a dress for xmas, new year's and her bday, all of which really annoyed me because that was something I was looking forward to doing but I felt "obligated" to use them. We put her in for pictures and then changed her a little later into what I had bought because IDGAF. We also packed away a lot of clothes that still had tags because we didn't have gift receipts either. I vote that you shop for what you like and see if you can get store credit for anything?

I bought a Tula Mockingbird Plum wrap yesterday. I hope I like it and do not regret holding out for an Uno Sunburst. I did not want to pay a gazillion dollars for one or spend countless hours hunting one down. Watch, now they will release more on the Tula site next week.
I bought a Tortle for DS since he's already getting a flat spot on his left side. He doesn't spend an extraordinary amount of time on his back in a containment device, but the RNP at night was enough apparently. I'm sad about it.
My parents are coming for a visit this weekend. They're going to spend more time in the car than they will with us. I don't get it but I'm just going to keep my mouth shut. I can drink while BFing right?

Do you wish they would stay longer or do not think they should even bother? You have a three week old, that seems reason enough to me.
DH's parents live six hours away and came down for the day when DD was about a week old. I am confident they spend more time in the car than here, but that is what they wanted to do. At least they were willing to make the trip.

I want them to stay longer. Both are retired and they're staying in a hotel. The original plan was for them to visit in April (didn't happen) and then for a week after DS arrived. I only see them once a year if that.
@supergreen are you going to have livestock at your new house or are you taking some time off until after #2 is born?
The new house has no barns, shed, etc to put the livestock in. And we have to cut down some trees before we can even build a barn. AND we have to save up money for cutting trees and building a barn. So rather than move our existing chickens and rabbits into the garage (GROSS), we gave them away and will get new livestock once we build the appropriate infrastructure at the new house. If I had to bet, it will probably be next spring.

I may try the store credit route for a few of the play clothes just to even exchange the colors or the sizes. Though most of the poofy dresses are hopeless because I don't know where they might be from. Maybe when I organize the stuff after next week's event, I'll start a brand sleuthing thread.
I get you on the holiday clothes. My husband told me that last week while I was out of town and the in laws were baby sitting, FIL went to Bloomingdales last week and bought DD 2 more dresses to wear at the in-law's next weekend. Add to that the white "baptism" dress they left DD when they came back in June, she is going to be a poofball next weekend. I am going to have to remind them again to GIVE US RECEIPTS for the stuff they buy. For some reason my husband thinks we *meanining I* can just dress her in all of this stuff. Um no, her preferred daily outfit is long sleeved onsie and pants bc she has dry skin and scratches herself all day long. Her arms look like she's a cutter at this point. She doesn't wear poofy dresses to eat her oatmeal and roll around on a daily basis.
*It might not actually be a baptism dress, but the thing is completely white and poofy and reminds me of the dresses I see in baptism pictures. We don't even do baptisms where we're from.
