I posted this below, but as I listen to cowherd and herbie right now - I really wish they would consider expulsion. Even though my Boilers are basically bottom feeders in the Big 10 football arena and it'd be nice to have more wins, I feel like this is no good for the Big 10 (competitively).
And not that it's super important in the wake of all of this, at all, but it is an interesting thought - don't cheer because PSU is going to suck and you'll be playing them. It's actually bad, b/c it's better to have a strong conference.
a fellow boiler! I don't often see those around here!
I'll be interested to see what the Big 10 does... I know I'm going to be bitter about any effect on me and my Boilers. And really the conference as a whole. I kind of hope they are out... it'd be the death knell, I think. Without strong conference help, I don't see how they come back from it. Like, with SMU, they were the standard in their conference and I think that's why they've never been able to come back - the conference disintegrated after the sanctions. I think with the Big 10, it's a strong enough conference, that if PSU stays, they have a chance to come back in 10-15 years.
Oh ITA w/ that! The conference is very strong with or without PSU. And that's why I think keeping PSU's dead weight will eventually help PSU... if they don't expel. A strong conference makes a big difference when fighting your way back, IMO.
Sometimes unfortunately for us bottom dwellers, lol... Rose Bowl, what?

This chick is sitting out a year, so PURDUE FOR ROSE BOWL!!
I think she was pinching him... she looks very devilish in that pic!
And I will take any Purdue Rose Bowl support I can find. It's been awhile since we embarrassed the Big 10 by being the representative for the Rose Bowl. Maybe we'll get one of Drew Brees's sons to come back in like 18 years and we'll make a return...
I don't have much HOPE in our coach, despite his name.
Ever since the Big 10 became 11 teams (and then 12), it's bothered me that there aren't 10 of them, so I hope they kick out PSU just from the math perspective.
ahh, gotcha, boiler! I think I know who you are now - but you changed your name!
My kids, if they attend Purdue, will be 3rd generation boilermakers. MH's parents met there, and we met there. My mom attended for one year, but had a car accident that made navigating the large campus too much, so she transferred. Two of her brothers are Purdue grads, though.
Funnily enough, my law degree is from IU-Indy... MH jokes it needs to be hung lower than the Purdue degrees we have (he has his masters and undergrad from Purdue).
Little Moxie - I love Purdue's campus so much, but I know a lot of people think it's ugly (mostly IU grads, lol) so I'm glad to hear a non-Boilermaker enjoyed the campus!
Also from a football perspective I feel like Wisconisin is just going to dance throught their division amd get the Rose Bowl on a silver platter. So I say go IU or Purdue or someone besides Wisconsin.
Oh and of course have them meet up with Iowa in the championship. :-)

DH's degree is from IU Med School, but the med school is on the IUPUI campus. He framed the degree in Red and Gold. He's a die hard Purdue fan.
LOL, I LOVE it!
Eddy - If only! I wish. Although, PSU is even banned from B10 championships for 4 years, too, and OSU is out this year. I think it does look best for Wisconsin, but maybe Purdue will be better than they have been for the past few years....
