Also, in the future, I would just buy directly from the airline. The prices on Travelocity/Expedia are never any better than what the airline offers (unless they put you on two different airlines, which in and of itself seems to be a gong show when they do that), and the headache of dealing with the third party websites just isn't worth it.
It's a risk in cases like this, but I've definitely been able to make use of the different airline situations buying through Travelocity and save a lot of money. But it is definitely always smart to check the price of buying direct, as well. If they're close I always buy directly through the airline.
Back to the OP...this is exactly why I refuse to price airline tickets after buying them (so that I can sleep at night without constantly second-guessing myself!). Good luck getting a credit.
aurora, I usually follow your policy and don't check back either but for whatever reason I did today and now I'm bummed I'm not getting an even BETTER deal, LOL.
FWIW, I bought through Travelocity because I got something like $70 back by going through an eBates-like link. I usually go direct through the airline too but this time I thought I was being smart!
Lol. Does Travelocity have some kind of price assurance like Orbitz?
