:-(
Even though I know it's totally irrational I am still a little sad.
I got judged because Cal isn't STTN yet. The mom then proceeded to tell me that maybe I should formula feed him because her baby STTN on formula. And she said "Well that is your problem!" when she heard we were co-sleeping.
Sigh.
This is the same mom that waters her baby's formula down to make it "last longer" and also gave her 4 month old sips of Coke.
It sucks even more that this woman sounds like a piece of work. For whatever irrational reason, it gets to me more when I am judged by someone who is so very clearly in no position to dispense parenting advice.
Sorry, lady. Picture her face at the bottom of the bowl next time you have to scramble some eggs and beat that fork even harder!
My DD (about the same age as your DS) can sleep through the night but doesn't always. She's EBF, so formula makes no difference, as I am sure you are aware

You ARE NOT a bad mom.
This woman sounds like she makes some questionable choices though, watering down formula...giving a 4mo old coke...
Anyway pretty sure I was judged this weekend too for BLW. We were talking to MIL on the phone, SIL was at her house. MIL told SIL that we gave DS sweet potato fries & he liked them. SIL's response: "he has enough teeth that he can eat sweet potato fries?!?!"
She was in the background so we just ignored her comment & continued talking to MIL.
And don't feel bad, M doesn't sleep through the night either.
Her poor baby, having an asshat for a mom who waters down his nutrition source. WTF that is so so wrong. Don't even get me started on sips of coke! WTF!
I'm actually a little worried about her manipulation of the formula: babies have died from doing exactly what she's doing.
Outside of that, though, she sounds like someone that would be getting a lot of polite nods and "Uh huh, well I'll have to think about that," from me right before I made a graceful exit from her company.

Like others have said, consider the source. I know that it sucks to be judged, but just know you're doing what works best for you and your baby and too bad if someone doesn't like it.
We tested out the formula v. bm at night when DS was 2.5 months old(granted, we had no idea my BM was causing issues due to MSPI). We had supplemented since day 1, so I didn't go out and buy formula just to check it out. No difference in when he woke up. He woke up at least once a night until he was 11 months old, and I think when he was Cal's age, he woke up multiple times, and he was strictly on formula(elemental, but formula) Hugs!
