They've cut so many of the songs, I'm honestly not sure if it's even going to be worth it. And I am ticked off that this will be so many people's first experience with an amazing musical that is now so watered down.

At this point in time, I'm not even sure why they are calling it Into the Woods.

There are a lot of parents in for a shock when they take their kids to a touring production after seeing the movie!

Well now you ladies have made me depressed. I might force DH to watch into the woods tonight (I think it is on netflix)since my VHS version finally died

I was really young when my mom took me and I fell in love. The sexual parts totally flew over my head. They must have flown over my mom's head too because she continued to take me to every production we could ever find. But, this is the same lady that took me to see Phantom, Les Mis and A Chorus Line all before the age of 10...

My mom is also oblivious. She wouldn't let me see R rated movies, but didn't blink at Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. LOL

Can it really be Into the Woods without Bernadette Peters as the witch? Sigh. I want to be excited about the movie but nothing will ever match up to the original. And Disney? Really?

Yeah, I'm finding it hard to be excited about this. The whole thing just sounds so watered down and pointless. It's like they're just making a movie about fairy tales without any of the deconstruction and emotional impact that made the original so amazing.
