DD1 started having a fever Thursday night. Now she sounds like a mix between Darth Vader and a seal. Dr diagnosed croup yesterday. I told her this morning we weren't going to gymnastics and she started sobbing, but no sound came out and she seemed not to breathe. Scary! DD2's (7 months) fever started yesterday, and I will freak out if she starts crying without breathing!

A couple of days with steroids. But be prepared for what I call "baby 'roid rage" if you go that route. My older kids outrgew croup by the time they turned four. They also had it so often that in September my pediatrician would just give me a prescription of the steroids to have on hand b/c croup generally presents in the middle of the night. Something to consider if they seem prone to it.
