They make personalized, metal lunch boxes. I think it is super cute and was going to order one as a present for her, but I want to make sure she'll use it since it is $30. Do kids still use lunch boxes? Is it bad that it has her name on it? What do you guys think, thumbs up or thumps down?
It is super cute and kids still use lunchboxes, but I would try to check first and make sure she hasn't already picked out a new lunchbox. I know DS1 was super excited to pick out a new lunchbox for school this year and had a specific idea of what he wanted (he and his friends all want Avengers, Star Wars, etc. lunch boxes, but I don't know what kind of lunchboxes are coveted by the girls).

It's very cute, but if it matters, I don't see too many kids these days carrying metal lunchboxes (at least, not around here). My girls are going into fourth and first grade, respectively, so I've seen/been through a lot of them...pretty much all the kids carry thermal totes. And most of my friends don't personalize their kids' lunch boxes or backpacks with full names for safety reasons.
It's adorable, but most lunch boxes these days squish down so they fit inside backpacks. That is so cute, but would take up her entire backpack if she wanted to have her hands free.
