We kept it simple this morning. I had eggs with onions and spinach and a small portion of raspberries. Lunch was an arugula salad with almonds, lemon pepper chicken, and a homemade lemon balsamic vinegarette. I also had some cashews. Dinner is going to be pork chops with a summer squash and green bean succotash.
I resisted the snacks at my workshop this morning and I have been feeling pretty good!
I started today! So far so good, I had scrambled eggs with onions and peppers for breakfast and I was surprised at how long it took me to feel hungry for lunch. It was also a very gradual hunger, where I didn't feel the urge to stuff every unhealthy thing I could find into my mouth (which is normal for me, haha). I did a big grocery shopping for the rest of the week, and by the time I got home it was already 2:30, so I just threw together monkey salad for lunch (organic coconut flakes, cashews, and a sliced banana). I am planning to make spaghetti squash for dinner with meat sauce. I feel hopeful that I will be able to stick with this!
Im so glad there's a board for this now so I can post about it! Im on day 21 so the real (physical) hard part is over. Its always just hard to have enough food with me during the day and to have things that sound appealing. My lunch was kind of nasty so I ended up buying some hard boiled eggs and grapes instead.
Day 11 here. I'm finding this Whole30 easier than the last. I think part of it is that I've maintained a mostly Paleo diet since my first. No "kill all the things" phase this go around.
I'm on Day 8. I'm technically doing a 21 day sugar detox which is like a Whole 30, but with minimal fruit, no honey, etc. So more of a low carb plan. I haven't had any real sugar cravings but I'm tired of cooking and not eating out.
Breakfast was 2 eggs and sautéed asparagus, lunch was a BAS with avocado and a leftover hamburger, and dinner is perfect roasted chicken with sautéed pattypan squash and zucchini, and roasted cauliflower. I had a snack (which is allowed on 21dsd) of a green apple and almond butter.
okay, hi...i will check in even though we aren't starting until tomorrow. i love, love, love sugar and cheese, even though i know both cause me some problems. i'm hoping that after the horrible part i will start to really feel differently and thus be motivated to cut out (or greatly restrict, i just can't imagine life w/o dairy) these permanently. i feel like i might need to get a food processor? will my magic bullet shred zucchini and sweet potatoes?

I'm on day 20. I'm definitely past craving sweets, bread, etc which is good. But, today eating really felt like a chore rather than something to look forward to. I guess that's good though? I am traveling so I've been eating basically the same, pretty simple breakfast and lunch for the past 5 days. I've had to have dinner out each night, and it's a chore to figure out what I'm able to have - but luckily it's worked out (I am visiting a very healthy / paleo friendly place).
