I'm on some sort of juror hot list - how many times have you

How many times have you been called to jury duty?  I swear I get called every 3 years, like clockwork.  Today my 5th summons came and I've never had a real trial.  The last time I was very pregnant with DS2, who is now 2 yrs. 8 mos. and for some reason they dismissed me . Most of the time we sit around all day and the case gets settled but "thanks for your service."

I have never been called for jury duty. I am just shy of 30 years old.

I've been summoned once - but it was to the county I lived in during the summer and it was while I was in college so I was excused.

Once, and they filled the caseload before my group was even called.

The first time the entire jury pool was dismissed on day 2, because over 60% of us were exactly the same age. Weird.

I've been summoned three times but only had to show up once (and was dismissed without ever getting picked). The second time I was able to get a waiver because I was a student, and the third time they didn't have enough cases to need my pool so we were all cancelled the night before.

See? What the hell? I've been called more times than anyone I know. I hate going because there's no free parking and the court is in a really sketchy part of town.

I wouldn't mind except I've never heard a case.  I've sat in a courtroom for days waiting. Also, I'm a teacher and have to leave sub plans unless I postpone until July, so it has kind of sucked.

I just had the orientation a few weeks ago. I start calling in every Monday for 6 months but the Judge came in and said it was unlikely we'd actually be called in.

So we'll see I guess.

I did think it was kind of crazy that H got summoned a few weeks after me.

I made it to the back of the room once, but didn't get selected for the actual jury.

I've been to the court house 2 additional times.

The last notice I got was 2 weeks after I set my corporation up, so I used the financial hardship checkbox to avoid going.

Summoned once. Same as you- didn't have to sit on a jury because all the cases were settled.

I feel like I get called for jury duty like clockwork too. I have gone 3 times and served on a jury twice. I am 30.

Summoned to the courthouse twice during my month of service, was picked for the jury both times.

Never, I did however did get to participate in seating a 21 person jury last week. That was fun. I'm amazed I have never been called.

DH is 34 and has only been called once. 5 days after we moved out of that county, LOL.

I'm almost 35 and have been called three or four times. Never served. My dad is 73 and never been called. It disappoints him.

DANG!  Are you employed?  How does your employer feel about this?

When I was serving a few weeks ago, they were trying to put together a jury for a 3-4 month trial and I was just perplexed how anyone can be out of work that long without repercussions.  All retirement-aged jury?

Once. I was in college and had an exam the day I was supposed to report. I called the office number on the letter multiple times a day for weeks and never got an answer or a voicemail to pick up. I didn't show up. There's probably a warrant out for my arrest

I got back to back weeks in May. Luckily it was a mistake and I got the second one dismissed

Once, and it was Grand Jury for 3-4 months, four days a week, in three different court locations (depending on the day/week) with a couple of recalls. I will admit it was fun and interesting and a good group of people that I was in with for the long haul. We even exchanged Christmas cards

It was horrible. I hope I never get called again.

I must be on a hot list too - I've been summoned five times that I can remember (I'm 31). I've only had to actually show up twice though; the first two times I was living in a different county than where I was summoned due to school, and the most recent time I was excused for being a full time caretaker (of DS) with no other available options.

Even the two times I've served I got dismissed from the panel right away for being an attorney. So on the hot list, but not at all desirable as an actual juror. Too bad, I think it would be fascinating to serve on an actual case.
